Many pieces of pottery were lined up to dry.
It was interesting to see the unique shapes of the pottery.
It seems you can also make your own items on the potter's wheel.
The souvenir shops in the area also sold a variety of small items, which was nice.

It was nice to see how the items have been made and placed neatly in rows to dry out in the sun. A place where you must bargain. They usually mark up the prices for tourist. I eventually bought a small Bhudda statue made in clay for 25% of the price they had quoted.

The square is just few minutes walk away from Taumadhi Square. It is not a massive production of pottery where is just a small section with few pottery display. There are mainly shops selling souvenirs to tourists with some pottery production. Still good to check out this place when visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square. We walked further around the neighbourhood to see the livelihood and day-to-day life of the locals and the residents there.

After exploring Bhaktapur, visit the local pottery makers. A nice lady will Invite you to make your own pottery. It’s an experience to know how these local makes tons of pottery. The festival is coming and they would need a lot of these pots.

It is worth taking in Pottery Square on your self-guided tour of old Bhaktapur. You can see the pottery being made, fired and dried in the sun. Of course you can buy some too!

This is a must see on any trip to Bhaktapur. It's amazing to watch the skill of the potters throwing the pots. Beware, they will ask for a donation if you wish to photograph them at work, but it's worth it.

watch the potters doing there craft but beware if you take photos youw ill be expected to pay a small fee and they are very used to sneaky tourists now so if you want a photo pay them first and you will get a nice pose and a smail rather than a blurred snapshot well worth the effort for a few coppers
