My wife and I did the the 3D/2N Wild Thrills trek and it was a fantastic experience. Our wonderful guide Mun began by taking us to the amazing local market where we stocked up on beautifully fresh fish and vegetables. Mun would turn out to be a superb cook. The first day took us through superb jungle landscapes to our first night in a bamboo shelter. It was surprisingly comfortable and after a stunning meal prepared by Mun we both slept really well. Listening to the sounds of the jungle as from our cosy shelter was a wonderful experience. Mun led us the next day along some more very pretty trails to our next night at a homestay. The village is beautiful, the people very friendly and - again- the food was great. The last day took us through stands of massive trees back to the road. Mun was full of useful information and great company throughout the three days. We thoroughly recommend this trek. We’ll remember it for a long time!

Thank you very much for your kind review, we are so pleased to hear that you enjoy every moment in the jungle trek and in the village. I will share this complement with Mun so we will keep up our great job to bring more benefits to our local partners to sustain the forest and local culture. Stay safe at home, have great next experience Best regards Tom.

Excellenta agency.
First of all, I would not recommend trecking if its raining a lot. Path will be very hard to walk on due to slippery mud.
We hiked for two days with our very nice guide Jug and two local guides. We had a wonderful adventure with so many things to experience and wonderful views!
The hike was "moderate", well both days it went up up up for one hour or so. We thought it was very hard.. Had to take a lot of breaks..
Our guides cooked fantastic meals, from local market and from the forest.
We really get to experience the forest and djungel in a authentic way.
We camped overnight in bambu huts, they provide thin mattress, sleeping bags and mosquito nets.
It's quite slippery and you walk over several streams over and over.
We had a wonderful time!

We did the 3D2N Wild Thrill Trails Camping & Homestay trekking with the hiker and we enjoyed it very much.

In this trek we hiked through dense jungle (about 5 to 6 hours per day), slept one night in the jungle and slept one night in a homestay in a small village. The guides are very friendly and speak a good level of English. Also the food they prepared for us during the trek was very delicious.

Furthermore, the agency is really professional. We contacted the agency by mail and quick replied and answered all our questions.

Highly recommend!

Review the hiker Laos

We went on a 2 day, 1 night tour called the “wilderness trail” when in Luang Namtha. We left the office around 9:10am to go to the morning market to collect food which we would eat over the 2 days. The local guide was a nice man although the English was broken but this was not a problem for us. We went on a trek through the jungle which was great and had some delicious food in banana leaves for lunch and a fire was lit to cook the fish. The camp was a simple Bamboo hut with a fire and a table. It was a great experience to sleep outside in the jungle overnight with only a small river to wash in. The locals from the villages helped to prepare food but did not speak English so no communication was exchanged only smiles. We foraged for foods and learnt about the different plants which can cure illness. The final day we trekked back to a village and got transport back. A few things could have improved our experience, 1. The guide could have offered more in terms of drinks. The free water included in the itinerary over 2 days - 4 bottles between two people were provided. Due to the heat, on the second day we ran out and we’re asked if we wanted boiled water from the river - which we said yes - then we just didn’t get any. We asked where the water was, as the guides all had their bottles refilled we were told “it’s finished” and were encouraged to buy some from a local village which frankly was not acceptable. We refused to pay and explained the included part of what we paid for as shown on the itinerary which caused small tension which we felt was not really fair. 2. We paid $96 per person as we were on a tour with just two people but the second group which were supposed to stay in a banana leaf “basic build your own” camp ended up with us throughout the whole first day, night and the day after (reasons were it was going to rain which it didn’t). So the couple who had paid for the build your own camp experience didn’t actually get what they paid for, they paid less than us and got the same experience as us. This was disappointing as the price could have been split between 4 people and not 2 which was more expensive. Finally, the brochure states that you will walk with the guides who will tell you about the nature and also you can go “wildlife spotting”. As far as the wildlife spotting went we did not see anything other than a few insects and were even told by the guides that there is no longer wildlife in the jungle just birds which you wouldn’t see. This again was a variation from what the itinerary says which I feel they shouldn’t use as a selling point if it contradicts the trip itself.

Challenging hikes all 3 days, it is hard climbs and descents. Dense jungle and bush so there were not many viewpoints. Slept in a tent both nights (not the cleanest), first night was by a trickle of water, second was not near water at all (high up with beautiful view of stars).
Food was amazing and prepared in banana leaves and with jungle ingredients (Same meal each day). All the guides were friendly and helpful.
Looking back on the description we really didn't receive what was stated. Didn't sleep near streams (no creek to bathe in). No coffee or tea. Didn't learn about jungle wildlife or plants. No bamboo tool making (drinking glasses). Didn't build own shelter. Had to purchase own water in village. Villages were just a pit stop with no interaction with locals.
Overall still a great positive experience, just expected more now that we look back.

We joined the tour called "The Wild Explorer" that lasted 3 days and 2 nights. As promised this tour was an adventure with building our own camping sites and sleeping under the stars. The guide was very skilled and entertaining. However, the hiking through the djungle did not provide any opportunities for wildlife spotting and very few other points of interest. The hiking was challenging and it felt like we sometimes were in a rush to get to the next camp site.

We did the 1 day hiking and 1 day kayaking combined adventure. We were pretty disappointed of the 2 days. The Trekking was very long (8,5 h) but we spent only about 30-40 minutes in primary forest. The rest was secondary forest or walking along fields. This ist not what I came here for. The kayaking was disappointing, too. We kayaked on the Nam Tha river, which is not even in the Nam Ha NPA, but just on the border which means on the left is no old forest. On the right is some nice forests from time to time but mostly it was rubber plantations and not primary forest.
Why 3 points then? Because the homestay in the village was really cool, even though the village was on the highway and not in the jungle. And our guide Noy was really cool and nice plus the equipment was in perfect condition.
So the organisation was good but the nature they showed us was not.

I went on the excellent Nam Oun Wilderness Trail (two days) and loved it. Our tour guides (Noi and Jai and a local guide from the villages) were knowledegable about every plant and insect we came across, fun and knew the jungle like the back of their hand. Machetes at the ready, they hacked out our path through the forest and picked leeches off our shoes.

The first day we trekked for about 5 hours deep into the jungle in Nam HaArea National Protected , including breaks whenever we felt tired and a slap-up lunch (traditional Laos food served on huge banana leaves that we ate with our hands). Later, we set up camp, mending the roof of our shelter with banana leaves and slept in a jungle shelter under the stars.

The next day we set off in the pouring rain which turned out to be great fun, as we were getting our feet wet crossing the stream every five minutes anyway,(watch for leeches!!!) and the jungle canopy provided lots of shelter from the rain. We stopped in a local Khmu village to drink a beer and watched people go about their daily lives.

Throughout the trip we came across hundreds of species of wildlife and plants, and learned how to tell a poisonous mushroom from a non-poisonous mushroom from our knowledgeable leader Noi, among other essential jungle skills.

All our meals were delicious local food freshly prepared by the guides and village people. The veggies in the group were catered for too, and everyone ate as much as they wanted. All equipment was provided, as well as water etc so we had nothing to worry about. Tom and the team were professional and friendly. They employ local people in the villages we trekked through, which is a great way of ensuring that the local communities benefit from their business. Would highly recommend them as a responsible tour agency that provide quality tours for your money.

We did the hunter trail trekking, 3 days 2 nights. With one of the best guides we ever had, Noi!!!

The first night you sleep deep inside the jungle, together with Noi and the other guide (forgot his name) you chop down banana leaves of which you make a roof and bed. The guides have a mosquito net under which you sleep. Noi cook's for you using a self made fire, you drink from bamboo cups and eat from bananaleaves. A truly great experience. And the food, was sooo good!

Second day more hiking and sleeping at an ethnic village. You can swim there and you meet other people from other tours. In the evening you can make a camp fire and have a drink with eachother, very relaxed.

During the hiking Noi explained all things we heard and saw. He explained to us what different plants are used for by local people and he let us taste some. Every question we had he answered. He even saw a snake 10 meters from the path where we were walking in the middle of the jungle, incredible!

The hiking was just perfect and the food during the hike delicious. The hike itself wasn't hard.

The service provided by the hiker, and especially Tom was perfect. He responded quick to our emails was very honest and transparent about prices and the people who signed up for the tour so far. We highly recommand the hiker to everyone who is visiting Luang Namtha.

We where 4 people on the 3 days Hiker trail, which was as expected challaging but not to hard (walking times where far shorter than mentioned in the folder). The overall hiking experience was great and I loved the trekking as well as all the food we had - a lot directly from the forest eg. Frog, fish, crabs and vegtable / spices. The guide was good except his English skills could have been better.
One general remark - I booked the tour because of good reviews and it was really much pricier than other operatures. Talking to other trekkers I guess we could have got the same experience for less money.
Things that did not work well: They should have told us, to keep extra space in my backpack for 2 bottles of 1, 5l water and sleeping bag. I packed really well and had a tiny backpack. We got the above-mentioned things to carry after the minivan transport us to the starting point - hence no chance to switch to a bigger backpack. All the stuff was bouncing outside the backpack during the hike - very uncomfortable.
Further we were all freezing at night at approximately 10 degrees with sleeping bags suitable 15-20 degrees minimum.
No pillow was provided - if I would have known that in advance I would have brought a small inflatable one myself.
Promised showers after the trek where cold not hot (we wanted to shower there before directly a nightbus)
As mentioned the hike itself was nice (don't expect to see animals), however organization was poor in important areas.

Thank you for your comments about your experience with us. We do have several options for trails in different area of the National Park, ranging from hiking for 4hours up to 8hours a day, some of our trails rated as a difficult for some people. Sorry that the trail you took was not the right one for your, so you found it was too short for you. In general, our guides' English are exceptionally excellent from the vast majority of travellers, however we do have a couple of guides whom the local and lack of opportunity to study English in a proper course, we have been helping to upgrade their capability of English, and they are getting better and better. Sorry that you the extra outdoor gears provided by made you uncomfortable on hiking. We accept the fact that we have not well informed you about what you will be carried along the trip. We are going to make an improvement on that, we will showcase more clear details of what to bring and what to carry along the trip in our front-office. And we have already purchased higher quality gears with lighter weight and premium quality especially the sleeping bag for both hot season and winter season(as some winter temperature could get lover than 15 or even 10 degree). As we try to reduce the weight during hiking in the jungle, so we can not provide the pillow for any hike except once we sleep in a village as homestay, we will have a pillow provided. The shower after the trek at the back of our office is an extra service, that you can choose to use or you can ignore, as we aim to offer for emergency cases once someone doesn't mind a cold shower, but about 7-8 months in a year you don't need hot shower in this country anyway. However we have planed to install a luxurious hot shower at the back of our office this coming month, to level up our service. Thank you for your time giving feedback, we value you opinion and suggestion. Stay safe at home, and enjoy your next travel soon. Kind regards Tom.
