The temple is situated approximately 15km from main city. The temple is primarily of Lord Shiva residing in the main sanctum with Guru Brihaspathy residing in a separate sanctum.
There is a free entry which could be busy at times and hence recommend to purchase a Rs 20/- ticket for a separate que. Offerings to the lord can be purchased from within the temple premises.

It is suggested to visit this temple on Thursday and devotees should prefer to wear yellow clothes as a symbol of respect to the Lord Guru Brihaspathy.

This temple is dedicated to the Moon God. Located almost 25km from the town, this temple is largely visited by those who believe that they are under the bad effects of the Moon as per their horoscopes.

They believe that by offering prayers with utmost faith to the Moon God, their ill fates can change for the better.

This is one of the Navagraha temple. Visited in the month of July 2016. This places is near Kumbhakonam. No crowd when visited around in the morning. Had a good darshan. Had gone through 1 day Navagraha package. Small temple kept clean. Main diety over here is Shiva. And statue of Guru is also beautiful. Temple closes @ 12:30 and open after 4pm.

We have planned for a Trip for all Navagraha Stalams. As a part of it, we have visited Alangudi - which is one of the famous stalam for Guru Bhagwan. It was really a Divine experience. There is a saying that auspicious things will happen in life only with the blessings of Dhakshinamurthy, so visit this temple once, to get the blessings of Guru Bhagawan.

This is temple is dedicated to Jupiter / Guru Baghawan; located near Kumbakonam. One of the most powerful Navagraha temples. Better to visit the temple before 8 am so that crowd is less and you can have good dharshan as well. Oldest and very powerful temple dedicated Guru Baghawan. Please plan to visit if you are in and around of Kumbakonam.

Alangudi Guru thalam, nearer to Mannargudi and Kumbakonam. On 2-8-2016, TuesDay,at 9.27 am Guru Bagawan transit from Uthiram Star to Kanni Raasi. Guru Bagawan is a subha planet. Brahaspathi, Ponnalan, Arasan, viyazhan are other glorified names for Guru Bagawan. It is better to worship Dakshinamoorthy (Then Muka Kadavul) on Thursdays.

this temple for Jupiter guru bhagwan is located on Mannargudi Kumbakonam road. This road is very winding and can cause stomach upset even for the hard stomach guys like me. This temple is dedicated to lord shiva and guru bhagwan has got a special sanctum on the side. People flock to this temple before there is a pending Jupiter transit per Vedic Astrology.

This is the Temple for Jupiter/ Guru - in the Navagraha temple series. All these 9 temples can be covered in 2 days. Be sure of the timings of the temples.
Ensure that the driver is aware of all the routes as all these temples are in villages.
