We were totally overwhelmed by the sheer architectural grandeur of this temple. Worth visiting thanjavur just to see this temple even for those not religiously inclined. Everyone is welcome. Guide is recommended.

The temple complex is spacious and an engineering marvel. Hire a guide for better understanding of the architecture and the engineering marvel.

The temple will mesmerize you with its size and intricate carvings on stone. Spare a couple of hours - preferably early in the morning or late evenings, when it is not very hot to go around the temple and enjoy its magnificent architecture and carvings

Its architectural marvel, how many times you visit you wonder, keep wondering the majesty serenity and vastness. You will gasp how its possible to build so tall without any foundation without any machinery. One has to visit the temple to feel what I mean.

You can visit Brihadeeswara temple in Thanjavur and it takes about 4/5 hours if you want to enjoy the temple.Gangaikonda cholapuram is further away and also takes 3/4 hours to complete the visit. Instead perhaps you can... More
