We visited the Sun Temple at Konarak during mid eighties. We were captivated by its sheer grandeur, majesty and intricate sculpture. During this visit we expected to be overawed, The upkeep, maintenance - the lack of it is telling. Not withstanding this the Sun Temple at Konarak was awesome and great. It is very rarely one will see such a... More

Marvelous architecture. ASI is trying to preserve it. Amazing art. Even though it is Sun temple, no one has done worship in this temple. This is a archaeological monument. Total temple is under renovation. Vehicles are not allowed near to the entrance, but there is no proper signage for going to entrance. Preferred time for visiting this place is as... More

From Puri to Konark is a ride of around 40 minutes. The temple has a vast & rich historic importance. It depicts the greatness of hindu culture and valiant kings. There are many points where one can do photography. Better take a guide, as he can help you know the history of this grand temple. No worship is conducted here,... More

Located at a distance of one hour drive from Bhubaneswar. Drive is beautiful though the road is narrow. Konark temple is beautifully maintained and area is clean and green. You must take guide for better appreciation and understanding the history of the temple. Otherwise you will not be able to appreciate stone carvings and sculptures. Guide will charge you just... Konark Sun Temple is a must visit place in an Odisha Tour. This is more of a tourist place than a temple, listed in UNESCO World Heritage Centers. We visited the place in the evening and the atmosphere was superb! There is a lawn around the Temple where the kids had a good time running around. Leaving kids to enjoy... More
