Whenever the monks in the temple see foreigners, they will come up and ask for money, saying that they are building a school.
There are many statues of princess sujata offering milk to Buddha in the temple.
The atmosphere in the temple was very quiet and peaceful. After paying homage, the monk asked again if he wanted to donate money for sesame oil.
Since I wanted to dedicate some merit to my family, I donated 200 rupees.
Please remember that it is good to pay homage. How much sesame oil you pay depends only on your worship process and how you want to offer offerings to the Buddha.
You don’t have to give money! !

Placed among paddy fields and near Neranjana river. Quiet place. Very few pilgrims. People who can speak English try to cheat visitors by asking for help to a nearby school.

This is a nice place to visit for Buddhist pilgrims as it is the place where Sujata offers Siddhartha Gautama the rice milk while on the verge of starving to death from extreme ascetic practice, leading to the realization of the "middle way". The tacky thing about this place are the "attendants" there constantly asking for donations.

The story of Sujata is so inspiring. She brought a bowl of porridge from her humble home and presented it to the ascetic in starvation and told him that he cannot find Truth and the way without a living body to experience that. A truth that imparted the wisdom that guided the Buddha to realize his goal. Such a simple story, but with such profound wisdom and meaning. The Sujata Kuti is a simple monument to the great episode, that one needs to search out away from all the beautiful monasteries and great temples. It's manned by a few dedicated people, nothing fancy or impressive. But, nevertheless the soul of Buddhism lies there. A contribution to the upkeep of the place is well worth it.

This is the supreme place where Buddhism got created. The place is beautiful and calm. Location is bit isolated and thats not good as people have to come in groups to be safe. Numbers of Beggars is really high, avoid them.
Not get in hands of people who want to have charity from you for somethings.
Nice place to sit, relax and enjoy the calm.

Well it's only a monument which you can remember about the story of Sujata. There will be a lot of people asking the money for the school donation, but you should think is there any a lot of schools in there ;-). Don't give the money to the children as they will fight each other to get the money
