I've been to my fair share of breweries. But this one takes the top. Doesn't look like you're typical brewery and kind of hard to find. But it is a Gem!. The beer is top notch and the bartenders are great on recommending beers. You also get free peanuts. It's is definitely a micro brew fans kind of place. These people are experts in the craft. Great food, beer and staff! Service was efficient especially for a Friday night and everything we ordered tasted good. French fries had super good flavor and extra crispy!

Mount Pleasant Brewing Company's Tap Room is a bit off the beaten path about half a mile west of Business 127 on Pickard Road, the north side of the road next to the railroad tracks. It is a relatively small bar with a beer list made up exclusively of their own microbrews and a menu limited by Michigan law on tap rooms to sandwiches and a few appetizers. It is simply, pleasantly furnished and offers a weekly schedule of live music and a trivia game every Tuesday. I go for the beer, which includes the brewery's standard list of 6 ranging from a light golden ale to a stout. The specialty list is always rotating and growing as brewmaster Kim Kowalski experiments with interesting new recipes. My favorites include the Iron Horse IPA, one of their regulars and to my mind one of the best IPAs to be found anywhere. Their Train Wreck amber, brewed with maple syrup and honey, is one of their most popular statewide. Other favorites include their Bourbon Barrel Aged Train Wreck, their Bourbon Barrel Impervious IPA, and their recent batch of Belgian Tripel, but there is not enough space here to discuss their wide variety of wonderful brews. They offer something to tickle the taste buds of any beer lover, no matter their preference.

I had one beer that was excellent and one that was good. The beer menu had a wide variety of beers available, which I loved. The food was good, but the we were sitting outside and once the food came the gnats and were terrible. I would visit again, just sit inside.

Nice stop on the way from up north to back home about an hour south of here. Our waitress is new here, but they seem to be an established brewery. Another location in downtown Mt Pleasant, but this one is moving to a new venue soon. Bartender/waitress was very friendly and helpful. Made our stop an enjoyable one. Their giant pretzel is really tasty! Other than their flagship beer, they are decent for a small production.

Great brews! I love trying new things and while I'm not at all a diehard beer drinker I really liked everything I tried. Try the Gruit and the Rootbeer! I also like the Raspberry Wheat and the Blackberry Ale. Can't wait to go back for more.

Took a bit to find. Call for specific directions if you are from out of town. Nice open air bar, very friendly staff. Had the philly panini which was very good. Bar cheese and pretzels were okay, left a strange after taste though. Bf liked the Train Wreck signature beer. Toured the place with the friendly brew meister.

Bartender was great and efficient. Beer sub par. Ordered a flight. The Rasberry and pineapple beer was good. The Peach Nitro was rather bitter w an aftertaste. ALL the beer could have been ALOT colder. Didn't get food and although there was a popcorn maker, nothing was popped nor offered.

I really like this place for a good sandwich and some tasty beer. (Try the trainwreck amber ale one!!)

However, it is very small. It is outrageously LOUD. The times I have gone they have only had ONE person working, and that leads to significant delays.

So, if you don't mind getting there early to avoid the crowd, don't want to have any conversation, and you are in no hurry- this place is for YOU! (Seriously, try that trainwreck ale!!!)

Relaxing atmosphere. Good place to get a craft beer brewed by the owners of the pub and to watch a sporting event on one of the bar's TVs. Don't expect a large food menu. As best I can recall they have about 6 to 8 choices that are mostly of the sandwich variety. I would hope they would improve their food offerings over time. But again this place is mostly for the thirsty, not the hungry traveler.
