About
The Graskop Gorge lift Company (Pty) Ltd is the latest and most innovative tourism development in South Africa. Situated in Graskop Mpumalanga, along the Panorama Route, made famous for its natural beauty and world renowned viewing attractions such as God’s Window and the Blyde River Canyon. The Graskop Gorge Lift Company is your passage into the heart of one of Mpumalanga’s last forested wonderlands. Surrounded by towering cliffs cut back over time by the Motitsi river where its waters plummet 70m into the gorge below forming a natural barrier to all, except for the most adventurous. Your journey begins as you drop off the grassy cliff top plateau, in a custom designed 26 passenger viewing elevator, down along the cliff face descending into the cool mountain forest below. An extensive network of elevated walkways, suspension bridges and interactive exhibits will lead you along the forest trail, across the stream, keeping one engaged in this natural and pristine environment.

- CathyJohannesburg, South Africa8 contributionsAdventure!!Had an incredible afternoon at the Granskop Lift Company today! Did the zipline, took the lift to the gorge and walked the route/suspension bridges. Had decadent chocolate cake and Chai latte (to celebrate my 60th) at Lift Cafe. Was an incredible time spent at this amazing venue and would definitely recommend it!!Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 3, 2024
- Antonio NMilan, Italy2,275 contributionsMany experiences immersed in natureBeautiful location surrounded by nature where you can do many experiences: you take a lift, you can go down the gorge and take a pleasant walk on a wooden walkway with many captions. You can also do the zip line for a fee separately. There is a Tibetan suspension bridge to cross the other side of the gorge (free). Icing on the cake, there is the big swing. You position yourself with your back and in a squat position and launch yourself into the void, very much adrenaline. The whole complex was created for tourists and is very nice, of course the prices are for tourists so not cheap. A nice place to spend half a day. - evaemauNaples, Italy1,459 contributionsFabulousGraskop Gorge Lift Co. is a place that can be reached by immersing yourself in the canyon, to do so you need to take an elevator that sinks into nature from above. As you descend you are enraptured by a view crazy. Someone even throws us with the elastic, here it is well equipped! Once you get below, there is a circle path, so you can start it one way or the other, see a pond, a small waterfall, a wonderful forest and Tibetan bridges! (not scary). Stop and make the visit, in our opinion It is worth it, before.taking the elevator there is a bar x a coffee or for eating. COST experience 3.00 euro about.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 25, 2024
- D DSamarate, Italy8,582 contributionsThe Graskop GorgeAmerica-style Attraction. The deep gorge has been made easily accessible by a panoramic lift that takes you from the top of the cliff to the bottom of the gorge. From here, a circular path on wooden walkways will take you for half an hour in the lush rainforest, enjoying beautiful views and atmosphere at the Tarzan. Waterfall, bird songs and vegetation the strengths. For the more adrenaline-pumping, possibility to do a zip line or a Bungee jump. Restaurant and nice ethnic market inside. opening 8.30-16.30 ticket : only entry to the top 65 ran (restaurant-market-bridge) lift and forest path 180 ranVisited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 15, 2024
- Dr VPretoria, South Africa8 contributionsGut wrenching; feet shakingThe experience was amazing! 10/10! Money’s worth. The staff working at the actual adventure section were helpful, patient and overall awesome - from the gate person to the entrance lady to the reception to the adventure guys themselves! The walk in the forest - to die for! The only downfall - post action food stop at the Lift Cafe! 1/10. You will however get great service if your skin tone is more fairer, but the tan downwards, consider the restaurant outside! Refused to let that affect me and the bambino’s though! This stop is a must!Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 26, 2024
- PopupTravellerSouth Africa262 contributionsPrivate paradiseWhat a joy! Clean, well maintained privately owned facility with friendly staff and exciting activities. The glass lift with forest walk is a must - an easy 600m walk with loads of information provided. Not at all humid as expected! An innovative attraction, without which the bottom of the gorge would never be seen at all!Visited December 2024Traveled with familyWritten December 9, 2024

Nicely set out with great viewing areas. We did the glass lift with the walk around at the bottom and that was a very pleasant way to spend 30 mins.
They have some comfy chairs by the suspension bridge where you can enjoy a drink and watch people flinging themselves off the swing platform!
Toilets are immaculate - as is the whole area
Easy to find and plenty of parking

Before entering check the prices. If you are going to go in, pay the extra money and do the 600m walk at the bottom of the lift. The walk is interesting if you take the time to read the signage and info boards. Some interesting opinions. The swing is an option for the braver adventures. We ordered a takeaway coffee, which took sometime. Other than the restaurant, it was a good outing.

We only did the lift and the walk in the lovely forest at the base. It took us about 2 hours for a leisurely walk. I carried my walking stick, which really helped with my tricky knee. Its a bit up & down with lots of steps.
They have options of bungee jumping etc for those so inclined.
I'd much rather pay the higher entry fee here for the lovely waterfall, compared to the others on the panorama route. This place is clean, wit good toilets. they have a restaurant too, which we did not try out on this trip.

I just love this stunning stunning forest after you went down with the list. I just feel like getting lost in this jungle and staying there ever and ever. A very small coffee shop with just coffee and a cool drink will be nice at the bottom

What a beautiful experience I had visiting this gorge for the first time. We'll maintained, well organised and pristine premises. Worth a visit and breath taking views. The big swing is exhilarating and heart in your mouth experience. The zipling was great and so popular with even school kids.
The lift ride down was breathing mtatititsi falls in background 600m into the gorge.
Walkings we'll maintained, labelled and forest walks, swing bridges, long walkways into the forest right down into the gorge was a once in a lifetime experience
I must if you are surrounding areas of Hazyview

Blown away , from the entrance to leaving. Beautiful scenery , exploring the forest , well sign posted. The breathtaking waterfall. The zip lining over the gorge. Not enough words to explain but to see it for yourself. Go on a clear day to see the views as you go down a glass lift. Very clean and well looked after with great staff to help you. Well worth a visit

A World Class Experience. This was our first visit to the Gorge. Right from the start everything was professional and with strict Covid standards applied. the lift itself was fabulous, utterly silent and beautiful. The forest walk at the bottom was so well laid out and so much care and attention to detail. Highly informative. the Cafe' at the top was equally beautiful and great value for money. We highly recommend this activity.

Beautiful location with a lift that goes down about 50 meters where you can follow a landscaped path through nature. During the route you will end up at the bottom of the waterfall. A very beautiful place to view the waterfall.
At the top you have some shops and a restaurant. You can also swing into the ravine with a rope. There is also a suspension bridge that hangs far above the ravine. A very nice place to enjoy the surroundings.
Definitely recommended to visit this. You can spend an hour or 2 here.

How long does it take to visit the place
Written January 1, 2019
The ride in the lift takes about 1-2 mins. There is a boardwalk (pathway) built in the forest and depending how interested you are it can take between 1-1.5 hours to do the whole route.
There is a restaurant and a few shops on the premises to browse and eat a nice lunch. It is a beautiful view and there is also a swing over the waterfall at an extra cost. So, in essence it all depends on you how much time you want to spend there

How accessible is this attraction? Would someone who has difficulty walking be able to visit? The person walks with a cane and would need to sit and rest often.
Written September 22, 2018
It is very accessible, only a few stairs and it has several rest stops.
