I had a summer trip with my lovely family. I rent aparment at Fayrouz area. I went to Keliopatar , Obayad beach and Romeel beach. I have enjoyed with terqawaz water and my childern enjoyed as well.

Sorry, there is no train between Mersa Matrouh and Alexandria. There used to be a sleeper train that went from Mersa Matrouh via Alexandria and Cairo to Southern Egypt, but only in Summer months, and I'm sure this stopped operation a few years back. There is a train line - but it is only used by the military now. Your other options are: Bus from the Bus Station just to the East of the town at the beginning of the Mersa Matrouh to Alexandria highway, I think only West Delta Bus Company...More

We're about to book to stay at the Jaz Crystal in Marsa Matruh in June. Before we do can anyone tell me if it is the middle of nowhere or will we be able to go out of the hotel and have a wonder round some shops and bars etc. I cant seem to find out anywhwere!! Thanks x

Marsa Matruh is located in the north-west part of Egypt, on the northern coast. It's isolated from the rest of the country. The closest historical city is Alexandria, about 280 KM. It's also close to the Siwa Oasis. Life in Marsa Matruh is not the same as in Sharm El-Sheikh where you have more lively activities, water sports and entertainments.
