Nice tomb at the top of the hill. Fantastic view of river valley. Worth the walk. Have been twice. The second time I didn't go up the hill but stayed with the guards and had tea at the rest house. They were very friendly and shared photo's of family with each other.

These rock-cut mastabas are distinctly unusual in appearance - most mastabas are built of stone or mud brick. The interiors contain a number of interesting and unusual scenes, including an enumeration of the monthly phyle (time-share) priesthood set up to service the cult of the tomb owner, and in another tomb a contract whereby the owner delegates his authority to his son. The landscape is also impressive - clearly there was a powerful landslide after a huge earthquake at some point long ago, and the cliff is littered with absolutely enormous boulders that clearly tumbled down as a result.
