Very good new museum with artefacts from anceint Khmunu
Feb 2020
This museum is fairly new, adjacent to the old ferry at Amarna. The items from ancient Khmunu (Ashmunein) are well presented and there is a replica of a house that you can wander through.

Lovely regional museum!
Feb 2020
Well restored after the tragedy of its sacking...Well signed displays, generally well-lighted and lovely. Covers the area's archeology from pre-dynastic all the way through Islamic arts. Well worth a visit!

A Gem of Ancient Egyptian Treasures
Feb 2018 • Family
The Museum provides visitors with a very diversified display of Ancient Egyptian Pieces across different eras.

In particular the first sculpture demonstrating the typical Ancient Egyptian family with the wife having her hand around her husband's shoulder and holding his arm with her other hand;

a beautiful sculpture of a Pharaoh from the Modern Kingdom in surprisingly well preserved status and another just beside it from the Ptolmey Greek Dynasty showing the differences in artistic development between the 2 eras.

A small sculpture demonstrating one of Akhenaton daughters with the notorious elongated head and irregular physical shapes;

A display of different Ancient Egyptian daily life products and 5 stunningly beautiful sarcophagus,

The Museum's set-up is comparable to the Luxor Museum with a reasonable number of pieces allowing the visitor an enjoyable tour without getting physically tiered.

The Museum's Manager volunteered for a very informative yet interesting and attractive explanation of the different pieces. Extremely welcoming, Interesting, friendly and definitely a must do.
