One of the first things you see when you get across the bridge.
Lots of information carefully divided by area and kind of information. Really helped us along our way!

The Welcome center is a lovely Log Cabin type building , right as you enter Michigan. Well staffed. Be sure to go to the end of 10th Avenue to the visit the downtown area, located on the Bay of Green Bay. Shops, marina, Library, restaurants, and Old Town. Easy to continue on M35 or US41.

It's worth stopping at the Welcome Center just for the log cabin look and the clean bathrooms, but we always find something else interesting as well. There are pamphlets for attractions and lodging all over the U.P (and some downstate as well) and the people staffing it always go out of their way to make sure you find what you're looking for. Great Michigan hospitality.

Leaving Wisconsin to go to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we stopped at the Welcome Center in Menominee, MI. Michigan does a great job with welcome centers having them throughout the center where you can get information about traveling the state. At this particular one, the employee was so helpful. She was pleasant and friendly and let us know we had just entered the Eastern time zone. She pointed out some attractions in the UP, made some suggestions. There was a lot of free literature available and best of all a road map of Michigan as well as a 2017 construction road map of the UP. Wherever you go in the state, make sure you stop at one of the welcome centers to be truly welcomed into this great state.
