We offer a 40 minute tour of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We have a vehicle that holds about 20 people that goes on a seven mile trail in the dunes. We stop at Lake Michigan or Silver Lake for a few minutes for pictures and to enjoy the view.

We love the Mac Woods Dune Rides. It is so beautiful to see the vast landscape and Silver Lake from the top of the dunes. Bring your camera for sure. In the summer months, definitely hit the beach when you're done with the dune ride....More
I've never done a dune ride before, but my boyfriend and I loved Mac Woods Dune rides. It was a busy place, but the views were well worth it. I wish I could remember the tour guide's name that we had because he was awesome!...More

There is a long seatbelt that goes across all of the people in the seat and it is very loose. There is a long padded bar in front of you at waist level in case you feel the need to hold on. Only one time in the ride did I feel the need to use either but my husband and children kept their hands in the air like it was a rollercoaster. So in short, I think holding a baby would be fine but if it is really little you might consider one of those baby carrier harnesses so if you felt the need to hold on the baby would be strapped to you. Again, this would be for just one steep hill. The rest of it is pretty tame although fun!
Would like to hear some ideas of the best things to do in the Grand Haven area from local enthusiasts. We are staying in Muskegon. Arriving on the evening of Sunday, July 2nd and leaving Wednesday, July 5th. It is my wife and I and 2 teen sons (18 & 19). On Monday, we will likely head up to Silver Lake area and do the Mac Woods Dune Rides (really looking forward to that) and rent some personal watercraft and stand up paddle boards on Silver Lake. What are other can't miss things to do in...More
