Free fish food to feed the fish (and unavoidably the geese). Nice walking trails around the area some shaded and most in the sun. A little museum in the visitors center as well. Different kinds of fish present as well as turtles and birds. Doesn’t cost anything unless you choose to donate!

Always a fun place to go. Grounds are nice to walk. Showcase ponds are fun for all ages. Great interpretive center and tours. Check their website for activities. They do at times have free fishing for kids. You always have to see the large sturgeon in the showcase pond.

This is a educational and enteraining place to visit. We take all out of town visitors here as it is interesting to visit, you can visit for free, you can feed the fish and see lots of fish in the pond. The visitors center has a movie, and exhibits and special events throughout the summer. You can make this a quick 30 minute trip or a couple hour event if you choose to take in some of the walking trails around the facility.

I went there with little ones, and they loved it! We didn't spend much time in the interpretive center, but they wanted to feed the fish over and over. Luckily, they make getting more fish food easy. The fish jump out of the water to get the food! We also walked around the paths and saw the hatcheries. An unusual and fun attraction for the whole family.

We have been to several fish hatcheries, but this is the best one. We arrived just in time for a guided tour of the facility which was very educational. I highly recommend this place for a visit.

While this is a great place for kids to go and see the hatchlings and how fish grow it is also a great resource for lake residents who have questions about what may be affecting their lake. Years ago we used the resource to identify eurasion milfoil which is a very dangerous weed.

Learned stuff. Kids enjoyed. Lots of fish. Out a ways out of town, but on the way to Lake Michigan. West of Kalamazoo.

Wonderful place for the entire family. The kids will love the exhibits and feeding the fish. Adults will enjoy talking with the knowlegeable staff and the beautiful outdoor ambiance.

Our family has been here many times for fish related activities, but recently we discovered the amazing birding opportunities the grounds have! My 13 year old son wants to be an ornithologist, so when I saw they were having a birding event we decided to make another trip. While the weather wasn't great (very cold and windy) we had a great time with the staff at the hatchery and members of the Kalamazoo Audubon! The ponds on the property are wonderful for watching migrating waterfowl. We also had the chance to see some shore birds, cranes, an bald eagle, a heron, and many other interesting birds.
