A thriving downtown area which is very walkable.

I was amazed at the changes in this city since my last visit many years ago. It is a thriving and friendly place and I am happy I was able to visit once again.

We always enjoy exploring older towns when we travel and decided to visit downtown Marquette. This is a charming area, right on the shores of Lake Superior with lower Mattson harbor park and the end of Front Street (a must visit) Not a huge number of stores but the diversity of what is there makes up for it. A clean... More

Not a ton of shops like you'd expect, several just on Washington st. end, some great local, historied bars, like Remies, good restaurants like the Portside, right near the lake, very clean, and safe for walking, even late at night. Everyone seems pretty happy here!

I had seen a few businesses listed, but didn't know what to expect. Very nice. There was an organic food co-op, a tabletop game store (like Pokemon cards), several hip and trendy gift and accessory stores, bars, restaurants, coffee shops. All close to the marina and park down the big hill to Superior. Definitely a reason to stay downtown. Great... More

We visit here annually to see family and the downtown is always an easy and pleasant walk. Make sure you stop at Snowbound Books and Donockers which are both really great family owned businesses

Wonderful places to shop and so many choices of food to eat! Relaxing curbside tables so you can sit and "people watch".Love the BELL that was placed at the top of the stairs from Lake Superior and all the firemen that have since retired.,their names are listed.....My brother retired from the Marquette fire Dept.so it was "full of pride"to see... Fell in love with this place. Ample, easy parking...most free. Food scene amazing! Cajun, Mexican, German, Seafood, High quality meats. Small, large. Cheap or pricy. Most not fancy. Farmer's Market on Saturdays. Live music in some venues. Public transportation available. Washington has many nice little shops. Friendly and safe. Beautiful. Easy walking. Right on water. Comfortable. A surprise to me... More

A very pleasant downtown area located right along the waterfront. There is some interesting architecture probably dating back to the very early days.

This is a great downtown with historic buildings, a great location next to the lake, and lots of local restaurants and shops that have not yet been ravaged by the horrendous Wal Mart retail strip that has wrecked American small business. The market on Saturday is awesome with vendors, artists, etc. This is a downtown I could live in with... More
