My husband loves lighthouses, so that was the primary reason for the visit. As long as we were there, the museum looked quaint, so we checked that out too. Tour guide for lighthouse wasn't fantastic, he lost his place in his speech more than once. However, the view from the catwalk back at the house is lovely and of course... More

They are working on the lighthouse and there is very little to see. The tour guide was annoying "Kinda Cool, really cool," over and over. He also made some inappropriate political remarks. The museum is interesting though. Parking is weird--no signage. You must drive past the building and take the first street to the right, after a block you will... More

We stopped here for the Lighthouse tour, which I really enjoyed. The two girls that guided the tour were volunteers from NMU, and they were knowledgeable and helpful. However, another employee, Ryan, was extremely rude to my husband and other customers. After our family bought items from the store and purchased a ticket for the tour, Ryan proceeded to harass... We went here with our kids and it was really entertaining for us and them. Fascinating history and a really engaged staff with quality exhibits and it is very centrally located close to the downtown.

Surprising how well this little museum expresses the history of the area and the attachment to lake Superior. The staff is very good and knowledgeable. We added the lighthouse tour. That is excellent..

This was an extraordinary experience. We stopped at the museum, not knowing much about their collection. The museum was closed since we were early in the season. As we started to turn away, a distinguished looking gentleman walked up. He asked if we wanted to see the museum. We said yes. He said, "Wait right here.", and walked around to... More

This museum is very good. Lots of information packed into it. Well worth seeing. Some of displays rather old and primitive but well done.. The light house was being restored so was off limits at the time of our visit.

Lots of history about the lakes and local businesses related to shipping. The only negative we have about this place is the way the women at the front were talking about other patrons and they obviously didn't care about our business either.

Pleasantly surprised with our visit. We were kind of killing time as the morning was rainy. Had just visited Great Lake Shipwreck Museum couple days earlier. MMM has very informative exhibits.
