If stopping in Marquette, this is a must-see location. Panoramic views of Lake Superior and the Marquette area. The walk and stairs may wind a few people, but you can definitely take your time traversing the trail. It's worth it!

My advice, take a hammock and stay up there for the whole day! There are enough places to hide away from anyone else up there and just hang and take in the beauty. Take a nap and start all over again when you wake up,...More

Two routes to choose from to get to the top. Pet owners need to do a better job of cleaning up after their pets. Great views from the top.

Awesome short hike. Took the stairs up and the hard way down. Beautiful hike and scenery. Phenomenal lookout point over the lake. Took about 40 minutes.

The wife and I hiked the “difficult” trail and had no problems. Views are amazing, especially during peak fall colors. Loved it and will be back in Spring!

This hike was a short one in comparison to the beauty of the payoff! Not only beautiful surrounding of woods and then distant views but wildlife. Pliated woodpeckers, frogs, squirrels. Totally worth the hike!

One of the great sites in Marquette Michigan, easy to climb and path well taken care of. Once at the top the scenery is breath taking, bring a camera as you will want the memories

Gorgeous scenery, beautiful views of Lake Superior & Marquette. Hike is a little difficult for someone like me in their 70's with a knee problem, but well worth the effort

We did it in the winter and it took a little over an hour round trip plus the time we spent at the top enjoying the scenery. Icy trail, steps packed with snow/ice, etc. we were using crampons (ice cleats) to make the trip... More

After conferring with my wife it was probably a 30 minute climb. We did stop a couple times on the way up for sake of the view and to catch our breath. The closer we got to the top we did slow a bit - our 14 year old, 4... More

Depends on the kind of pet doesn't it? If it's a dog, just keep it on a leash and all is well.

3 Days in Sedona (8 Replies)
This is our first visit in Sedona and I'm trying to narrow down an itinerary. Although there are MANY sites we would like to see, we are staying at the Enchantment and we would like to spend some time enjoying what it has to offer. Here is our timeframe: Wednesday pm - land in Phoenix Thursday am - wake up early and drive to Sedona/Enchantment Friday-open Saturday-open (head back to Phoenix before dark) Saturday night - Phoenix Sunday am - Early flight Here are some of the sites that...More

You have one full day and two half days at Sedona. That’s not even close to 3 days. Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are at Page, over 150 miles away from Sedona. Scratch those off your list. Boynton Canyon is closest to Enchantment. Bell Rock is off 179 on the opposite end of town. You’ll drive 5hat road on arrival or departure. Maybe both. Airport Mesa is the highest elevation in town that you can drive to. Nothing special IMO.

Downtown restaurants I recommend are the Vierling and Elizabeth's. They are next to each other on Front Street. Vierling is more of a pub atmosphere and has the best Whitefish in Mqt (maybe in the UP). Elizabeth's is more of a "dining experience" and a bit more pricey but has excellent food for either lunch or dinner. Ask for a seat in the back at either one for a view of the lower harbor.

Itinerary help, circle tour of MI with kids and elderly (33 Replies)
Itinerary for Circle Tour of Lake Michigan We are going on our annual road trip. This year we are setting our heart on doing a circle tour of Lake Michigan. Our start point will be North Manchester, Indiana where we will pick up our three daughters (8, 10, 13) from a week-long overnight camp. (Yes, I predict that they will be tired out from all the partying!) We will be traveling with my healthy in-laws who are both 83 yo. I love good food and visit cute towns, and we all enjoy hiking,...More

I personally would eliminate Bayfield and have some more time in the other locations to feel more relaxed. I wouldn't return to Mackinac from Tahquammenon but move west. Maybe stay in Grand Marais 1 night so you can spend a full day in Pictured Rocks driving from Grand Marais towards Munising
