Short drive from downtown and a short hike to the top. Well worth it for the 360 degree views of the city and water! We took the "difficult" path up and it was steep but only took us about 12 min. Took the easy path down. Longer and flatter than the "difficult" path.

I've been up Sugarloaf many times and it's always a pleasure when you reach the top. Tough walk for the older generation. The difficult path down was actually easier than the easy path

You'll still get winded if you're not in very great shape, but it's a pretty easy and well marked hike with the best view in marquette at the top. It's got an even better view than hogsback in my opinion, and it's easier!

I hiked with my 6 year old daughter and a friends daughter who attends NMU. We took a few breaks but made it to the top. I cannot even express how breathtaking the view from the top is!

We've. Lived in Marquette area for any years and this remains one of our favorite places to take visitors. Fairly short, moderate hike with outstanding views of Lake Superior, and the surrounding hills. You can really appreciate the rocky rugged country from up here. Love the interpretive signs at the top, would like to see more.

We hiked up which took about 20 min and when we arrived we saw some of the most amazing views in the U.P....this a FREE and very very awesome. Got some great pics....The terrain going up can be a little rough so it may not be suitable for granny and gramps....

We were in Marquette and had a little time, so we decided to do this hike. We chose the "difficult" path on the way up. It was an unpaved trail with roots, etc. Some sections steeper than others, but not super difficult. Granted, my very athletic teenagers did the climb much quicker! Several flights of stairs at the top. The... More
