Two trails lead to the top: One easy, with lots of stairways and flat ground; one harder with steeper ground and no stairways. Once they join, just before reaching the top, you are presented with more stairways and beautiful views. Once at the top you will find seating, railed observation decks, and mighty vistas. This is a not-to-be-missed attraction.

This is a great place to bring your grandchildren or company. The hike is so pretty in the woods but nicely laid out so you're not going to be tripping up. When you get to the top you see for miles the wonderful views of the Marquette Area. So peaceful and relaxing to sit on the bench and enjoy the... More

My family climbed Sugarloaf this winter, first time, but certainly not the last time. When we got to the top we amazed at the beauty. Great photos!

We went in August. Be prepared for stairs. A LOT of stairs. Most people in good condition or younger people will find this okay. Middle aged, elderly, or out of shape people will find the ascent difficult. I guess there is a harder trail with no stairs which is more or less for hikers. The "easy" trail has the stairs... More

Ok, I grew up in Marquette, and have climbed Sugarloaf dozens of times. It is a nice trek and the trail is not super difficult. But, lets face it, it is NOT a mountain. Go out west and see the Rockies or east to the beautiful Smokies, now those are mountains. In any event, the trail is a good hike,... More

Hike is really nice even though we took the easy one. Enjoyed every bit of it. View is good from the top but seen similar views. A good outing for few hours

It was a very nice hike up scenic hills. The walkway wasn't the easiest but was not difficult either. For the average walker, it would be fine. It will test your aerobic activity level & your heart will be beating faster by the time you get to the top. It was very foggy that day so we didn't get to... More

Beautiful View! But lots of steps up-hill, rugged terrain. No bathroom facilities or drinkable water.

This is a great place to hike! When you get to the top, the view is wonderful! There are a couple of benches along the way if you want to stop and catch your breath.

Anytime of the year, you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the U.P. Sugar loaf mountain is a must see if you are in the Marquette area. It is an easy drive out of Marquette. There are two paths you can take. Each have their down falls. Sometimes stairs are difficult for some people but not having something... More
