Huge park with a nice playground for kids, large grassy area for dogs or frisbee playing, and awesome boardwalk along the lake. There are several festivals down here throughout the summer, check the Travel Marquette website for dates.

Excellent lakefront park near our city marina lots of green space for whatever you want and trails around park that connect to city. Playground for family with kids, no beach nearby if its hot but some people jump off the wall near the lake. During summer city has many festivals going on in park depending on occasion or holiday.

I love going down to this park! It's wonderful for the family or to just walk around. The water is calming and you can take a walk on the break wall. Also, a nice treat is the ice cream store for some refreshing ice cream! Always nice to just stroll around this park and be by the water.

Mattson Park is the perfect base camp for your initial adventure to Marquette. From there great restaurants are just a walk away. And if you are traveling by bike, it's a quick jaunt out to Presque Isle or McCarty's cove beach and the Coast Guard Station. Picnic, toss a frisbee or enjoy watching the ensigns sailing on Wednesday nights. It's Marquette's anchor.

This park is a perfect stop on a vacation day. It overlooks Lake Superior. Many little festivals are held here. It is well-maintained. There is a playground for children and paved pathways for walking.

While visiting in the Marquette area, we decided to check out downtown Marquette. This park is situated right at the end of Washington Street, which is the "main street" in the old business district.
This park is excellent for biking, walking and just enjoying the waterfront and views. There is a small strip of townhouses adjacent to the park, very picturesque, picnic areas, childrens' park area....something for everyone. Benches align the water area for just sitting and enjoying the view.

Really enjoyed the park, great venue for Beerfest! Plenty of room to spread out and good view of the closed Ore Dock.

We decided to stop at the park to check out the harbor & take a brief walk. Good amount of green space to enjoy, easy parking, nice playground area for kids, ice cream shop, indoor restrooms, and walking path by the lake. We marveled at the ore docks & struck up a conversation with a friendly local. Worth a visit.

Great little water front park in Marquette, Great play ground with lots grass and parking, if no activities are going on.Right beside an active dock and the lower harbor marina is on the other side of the parking lot. Lots of very popular activeties happen here from the sea food fest, car shows to fireworks. Ice cream shop open in the summer..There is a great bike path that goes right by the park.. Relating to pictures in other reviews, there is no beach here. This was a old industrial site that was turned into a city park. Beaches are just north west of the park or on the east side Marquette..
