Visited the downtown area along the river, a quaint Area that runs along the river with shops and restaurants on both sides of the street. Plenty of shopping for the whole family and you can watch the Fishing boats come in and out or if you want you will Find a captain to take you fishing.

The farther you go, the more secluded it gets. Great peace river, good fishing and kayaking. My favorite

Relax city, enjoy beautiful michigan lake, one small thing: do not have many fishing piers, overall, very quite peaceful place

The walk a long the river is just beautiful. Very comfertable for every one to walk there including wheel chairs. An easy walk few yards from the centeral road of Manistee. The view is very very nice. Realy worth spending the time there. One hour walk.

We love kayaking the Big or Little Manistee rivers. If you're up to a more challenging trip try the Little Manistee.

Beautiful river. Slow moving and looks like a great place to kayak. We sat on the deck of a restaurant and enjoyed a micro brew and just watched the water for a bit.
