When we first heard about Orchard Beach Start Park,, we though it was just that, A State Park. We didn't relize it was a camp ground. When we arrive to visit it, the gentleman at the gate was ver friendly when he realized that we were in the wrong spot.

I was so surprised how the one end of the campground has such a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Just sat there for a few days looking at beautiful Lake Michigan. The sunsets were unbelievable. A little bit of a crowded campground but we were surprised how quiet it was. There's a nice new "sanitation" station with three bays, makes... More

We havent spent much time camping on the East side of the State so we found an opening here. It is a very nice small -medium size campground. The office sells firwood and ice. it is a quiet well kept campground but the bathrooms are dated. However they had alot of staff working and kept them clean. Youmhave to walk... More

Average campground. Dated showers/bathrooms. Seemed like small sites. Everyone was great - nice location in Manistee

This state park is on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan so the views are amazing. Lake is 70+ steps down a steep bluff. The view is magnificent and boats can get to the lake easily via the Manistee River. This is a very popular park for boaters and fishermen. There are better parks along Lake Michigan for children and families... More

We just returned from another camping trip to Orchard Beach. We come back because the views from the bluff's edge can't be beat. We've found that the campground has changed very little over the years. The bathrooms and showers are in desperate need of a makeover. The sites vary greatly in size and many folks were bringing in huge RV's... More

Very clean and a great policy of all the time is Quiet time Showers are clean though a little small and at peak times a little in the cold water side. They have fair prices on firewood. Close to beaches, shopping, and fishing (under 10 miles)

typical beach but unlike 1st St beach in manistee it's not as crowded and it's out of the city limits so that's a bonus and your nor to far from town in case you need stuff

My husband and I stopped for a picnic while on our way to the hotel we were staying at. It was perfect! Very quiet and clean! Plenty of picnic tables and a view that you can't beat!

We stopped here for a few hours to enjoy the beach and view. We paid a daily rate to have beach access. This is mostly a campground and then you can take a very long staircase down to the beach. The beach area has a long shoreline but it isn't very wide. It is more of a secluded beach area... More
