Nice view of the bridge
Oct 2020
The "park" is a cleared out unimproved lot maybe an acre of land. You're not there for the "park", you're there for the free view of the bridge and it's a nice view (and you don't have to trespass someone's property for the view).

What a beautiful view on the ocean
Sep 2019
I liked that beach with plants.
The anchor was also attractive!
The best part is the beach and even better a beautiful view on the ocean. Wow!

Like a private beach
Aug 2018 • Couples
This is a nice beach for relaxing but not so much for swimming... there are many rocks on the beach and as you enter the water, also a few feet into the water is a drop off that is difficult to get back from when returning to the beach... so, it depends on what ou want to do.

A nice park
Aug 2017 • Couples
This is a lovely park that is on the shores of Lake Huron. You can walk it easily, play in the water, have great views or Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge. There is grass to sit on, picnic on or play on along with a sandy beach.

Took the time to read all the history and enjoyed time viewing the lake. Need to watch out for the goose poo ... fun watching the gulls.

Great Place for an Evening Event
Aug 2016 • Couples
The day we were there, there was a special event with was a reenactment of the 1800s. Check with the tourist information center ahead of time to find out what is happening in the city.

Beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge from the park
Jul 2016 • Friends
Great view of the Mackinac Bridge from this park. There is a nice paved walking trail, grass area for picnics, and a beach area to play in the water. Love the views! The lake looks like an ocean!

Anchors away
Sep 2015 • Family
The village of Mackinaw City (ironic the City isn't big enough to be a city) has done a great job of preserving shoreline views and public access. I don't know if they acquired properties though eminent domain or just planned on a few vacant lots here and there but the result is a series of public open space I'm sure every realtor in the Midwest would love to get their hands on. You can't miss the park- there's big anchor at the entrance.

A pocket park...
Jul 2015 • Solo
This is a small pocket park along Huron Avenue. It overlooks the Mackinaw Straits. It has a paved sidewalk, some landscaping, and a small sand / gravelly beach. There is a signage kiosk. Some grassy areas, and a large anchor as its centerpiece. There is either one picnic table or a bench. Parking on street.
