Excellent pitstop for a picnic lunch
Aug 2021
The park had nice bathrooms that are well-maintained and clean. A big plus. They had nice picnic tables, although there was visitors (ducks, geese and squirrels). The park has free parking in front. AND best of all it's right on Lake Huron, Beautiful clear waters and rocks to give you a foot massage or a sore foot depending on how delicate your feet are. A great place to stop for a picnic and save some money on the pricey meals all around Mackinaw City.

Relaxing....
Oct 2019 • Couples
The Park, and its namesake's history, were pointed out to us on the Mackinac City trolley tour.
We stopped by later; to enjoy the views and relaxing atmosphere of the area; as well as the statue of WaWatam, and his story.
This is well-maintained little park; providing a wonderful retreat for the citizens of and visitors to Mackinac City.

Park with Statue of Chief Wawatam
Jul 2019
Along the shore in this town are a number of small parks...this one had a wooden statue of Chief Wawatam...and a plaque telling about the history.

Relaxing

This is a small park not far from town. Its very pretty to sit and just relax but it could use a few more benches, still its an easy and pleasant walk from town and well worth it.

Beautiful

A great place to get away from the tourist traps downtown. A view of the bridge and lighthouse as well as the Great Lakes. If you’re lucky you’ll see a large freighter go by. Clean park with clean restrooms.

One of many parks in the same little strip!
May 2019 • Business
Walked past during a 3rd grade field trip. This is a cute little grassy park situated amongst a few others near the bridge. There are indoor restrooms and a playground. There's a paved sidewalk going down by the water.

We got to the beach to watch the sunrise. Absolutely gorgeous.
The clouds were actually pink the day we were there. Such beauty in nature

Such a pretty park, clean restrooms. Cool view of lighthouse, bridge, Mackinaw Island and St.Ignace. Nice walk and place to rent kayaks. Can't wait to come back and bring our daughter.

Just okay
May 2018
It is an okay park/beach but someone needs to pick up blown garbage and rake it every now and then. Take a lawn chair and give it a try though.

Great spot, few people, underutilized
Jul 2018 • Family
This is a great little spot, with easy beach access and it’s seems very underutilized. Not crowded at all and the warm was so clear and warm on a July evening.
