The park had nice bathrooms that are well-maintained and clean. A big plus. They had nice picnic tables, although there was visitors (ducks, geese and squirrels). The park has free parking in front. AND best of all it's right on Lake Huron, Beautiful clear waters and rocks to give you a foot massage or a sore foot depending on how delicate your feet are. A great place to stop for a picnic and save some money on the pricey meals all around Mackinaw City.

My family had an enjoyable time skipping rocks into the lake and just hanging! The midges were annoying, and there really isn’t sand. It looks like there is, but the ground is actually small chips of rocks and or shells…not quite sand yet. Beautiful place to chill though!

I was recently in Mackinaw City for a night, before heading off to the island. I decided to check out a couple of the small pocket parks located along Huron Ave, right on the water, in Mackinaw City. I have been to them all, at one time or another, but I do not remember exploring this very nice park. We've used the restrooms, but never really thought it as a park. Well, I was wrong!

There is a very small 3 or 4 car parking lot, hidden away on the side of the park. I do believe there were a few places to park right on the street too, a small pull out.

I really liked the beach. It is a gravelly/sandy beach and you'd do better with chairs than with a blanket. And water shoes would be a huge plus. But the beach is bigger than I thought, and I bet there are a lot of people that come to this park just for the beach. You can view the Shepler ferries going to and from the island. Plenty of grassy area, also.

There are several picnic tables and a few grills under a couple of large shade trees. Perfect setting in my book. A few benches, also. You can observe the Mackinac Bridge, once out on the beach or from the observation deck, where there are telescopes to use. There is historic signage located through out the park. Paved walkways, clean bathrooms and a small playscape for the kids. Drinking fountain and trash receptacles.

What a great little park for locals and tourists alike. I was here during dusk; I came back after dark. All was quiet and peaceful. Magical views of the Mackinac Bridge after dark! Highly recommend discovering and utilizing this park for a visit.

Along the shore in this town are a number of small parks...this one had a wooden statue of Chief Wawatam...and a plaque telling about the history.

This is a small park not far from town. Its very pretty to sit and just relax but it could use a few more benches, still its an easy and pleasant walk from town and well worth it.

A great place to get away from the tourist traps downtown. A view of the bridge and lighthouse as well as the Great Lakes. If you’re lucky you’ll see a large freighter go by. Clean park with clean restrooms.

Walked past during a 3rd grade field trip. This is a cute little grassy park situated amongst a few others near the bridge. There are indoor restrooms and a playground. There's a paved sidewalk going down by the water.

We got to the beach to watch the sunrise. Absolutely gorgeous.
The clouds were actually pink the day we were there. Such beauty in nature

Great little park with picnic tables and a beach. Good view of the Mackinaw Bridge and Shepler's ferry docks. Good place to sit and enjoy the treasures of Central Ave, and watch the Island Ferry come and go while the Grand kids play in Lake Huron.
