Both Lighthouses cruises were outstanding and are a must if you want to visit all the lighthouses around Lake Michigan . We also got a start of the lighthouses of Lake Huron.

If you get an early start you may be lucky enough to take the ride that not only goes to Mackinac Island but also goes under the Mackinaw Bridge on the way there. If you are interested, make sure you look for the special colored print in the brochure to catch one of these special trips.

Nice cruise
Sep 2019
Was kind of a raw day, when we went on this cruise. They take you under along the bridge with a lot of information, then a tour of lighthouses in the area. There was a guide from a local college or organization with a lot of interesting details and history of each lighthouse.

West lighthouse cruise
Sep 2019
Went on the West cruise of the lighthouses on Sept. 7th. What a beautiful day and trip. The narration and stories were great and the views were absolutely worth the price. Will be going on the next one on the 15th.

Lighthouse (East) Sunset Cruise
Jul 2019 • Couples
I'd remarked on a Shelper's tab by error but we took the evening/sunset cruise for the east side (Huron) lighthouse cruise and it was fantastic! The Captain will slow, stop, and turn about each light so that it can be photographed no matter where you are seated. Definitely lived up to it's "sunset" name--it was spectacular! Well worth the money...Thanks Shelper's...super trip!

So Much to See of Both Lighthouses and Mackinaw Bridge
Jun 2019 • Couples
Even though my husband and I are from MI we had not taken the time to cruise the Straits of Mackinaw. This two-level boat was perfect for viewing; the narrator was very knowledgeable; crew friendly and encouraged questions; even though the weather cut our cruise short, the staff looked out for everyone's comfort and safety.

Greetings Bonnie and thank you so much for your lovely five star review of our recent lighthouse cruise. We're happy you enjoyed and while we're sorry for any disappointment about decisions based on weather that day, we definitely appreciate your understanding and confidence in us. You're correct... safety first, always. Thanks again!

Trip cut short but kudos to Sheplers
Jun 2019 • Couples
We took one of Sheplers lightnhouse cruises. We planned to see 5 lighthouses on the three hour tour. When we left the weather was perfect and waves were about 1 foot. Everything was wonderful. The narrator did an excellent job. We went under the Mighty Mac bridge and the waves grew to five or six feet. We had chosen to sit on the top deck and got soaked. It was like an amusement park water ride. We had water standing on the deck. The captain decided conditions were too dangerous to continue for fear of someone slipping on the wet deck and getting hurt. We returned to the dock having been gone about two hours and having seen two lighthouses. Everyone I spoke to agreed that he made the right decision. We were disappointed but not angry about the shortened trip. The next morning we got a phone call from Sheplers apologizing for the shortened trip, and offering to refund half of our money. I don't know about anyone else but we felt that this was very fair. Kudos to Sheplers for being concerned for our safety and refunding half of our money when Mother Nature turned wild.

Hello Cindy and first and foremost, we'd like to thank you not only for riding with us on a Shepler's cruise, but also for taking the time to post about your experience. Mother Nature loves to throw curve balls whenever she chooses, and we're very grateful for the skill and attention to safety on the part of our captains. They ultimately make the decisions about returning and while some guests are disappointed when trips are cut short, we appreciate you recognizing that this is done with your safety in mind. We'll be sure to share your kind words with our president Chris Shepler and the group sales team. Once again, we thank you for choosing Shepler's and we hope to see you again many times into the future.
