We stayed in the hotel that shares a parking lot with this ferry, so we chose them to get us to the island. Before one pm, they have ferries leaving the city every fifteen minutes, which is nice. Definitely recommended riding on the first or second level, third level is a little stifling. They took us under the bridge, and... More

We took the Star Line round trip from Mackinaw City to Mackinac Island. Their Hydro-Jet Ferries provide a quick crossing. The boats depart frequently in season. We entered the parking lot and unloaded our luggage onto a cart designated for our hotel on the island. Once the car is unloaded you can drive it to a lot a block away... More

We were very pleased with the trip on the star line ferry boat to Mackinac Island. The crew was helpful, safety issues were addressed before leaving the port. Great views, took the trip under the bridge and it was worth it. Wood highly recommend this ferry line.

I enjoyed utilizing this ferry company. We were nervous to leave our car overnight but they were very accommodating. It cost an extra $10, but totally worth it.

The staff was very kind. They took time to answer questions and were very helpful (both on the boat and in the ticket office). They were prompt and it was very peaceful ride to the Island and back.

We took the 9AM boat, which detoured under the Mackinac Bridge, which was very cool! It took a little longer to get to the island, but it was worth it to see the bridge from below. If you aren't in a rush and you have people in your party that enjoy architecture, do this!

Very efficient & clean ferries. Plenty of parking by the ferry dock. It's only an 18 minute crossing to Mackinaw island, but even on a sunny day, it's very windy.

Frequent regularly scheduled departures make this a good option.Bicycles are $10 extra (but still less expensive than renting on the island) and the boats hold more than 150 passengers so almost everyone in line gets on board. Faster transit time than the other ferry lines. If you don't arrive on a shuttle, plan to pay to park or hike a... More

I didn't give them 5 stars for 2 reasons. 1st is because I feel the price is on the high side (but all the ferry companies charge about the same). 2nd is because there was only 1 person working the ticket desk, and though she was fast and efficient I could see people getting worried about making the up-coming ferry...
