I enjoyed looking at the paintings and pictures depicting different areas of the island. It was a quiet place to visit. Your Fort ticket gets you into this building.

This summer I had the experience of visiting the art Museum & I also was invited to the celebration where they give cash awards to the 3 top artists, that event was at the downtown park in front of the fort right next door

We are not people who frequent museums but we enjoyed seeing the paintings at this museum. We were on the island for four days and it was a nice break from hiking and bicycling around the island.

We recently spent a long weekend on Mackinac. The Art Museum caught our interest, and we set aside some time in the morning to visit. There is a bike rack out front, so you can roll your bicycle up the side walk. There are some steps for the museum entry, however inside you can take an elevator to the second floor. We thoroughly enjoyed viewing all of the exhibits, including the black and white photographs, the antique maps, and the original artwork specific to the island and area. Additionally, there was a juried showing of artwork for sale. Afterward, we toured the surrounding peace garden. What a lovely gem of a museum for visitors and local residents alike.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review, and we're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your visit to The Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum! We thoroughly enjoy having an outlet to showcase our rare and exceptional collection of art and photography. The juried exhibition is a lot of fun for us to present every year, with the theme this year being "Visions of Mackinac." Be sure to stop by next year as we celebrate 125 years of Mackinac Island State Park with our juried exhibition next year. As a point of clarity, we do have an accessible entrance to the rear of the art museum, as a path winds to the east of the building and connects with a ramp, which is right next to the elevator. Thank you again for visiting, and we hope to see you again soon!
