The arch is easily found in the park but is best reached on the carriage tour (it is a long ride uphill on a bike). The view is impressive and there is a walkway beside it that lets you get close for pictures. It was formed by erosion and it naturally continuing to deteriorate - see it while you can.

Arch Rock is a must visit while on Mackinac Island. Your options are to walk up the 207 steps so you visit it on your own schedule, or go on the carriage tour and they will give you 5 minutes to visit it. I did both so I could have a lot of time there and it is worth it.... More

A natural geological structure with a breathtaking view. Just a few stairs and a viewing are with no stairs. I love this one!!

A must see geological site on the island. About a five minute walk from Mission Point Resort. Then it's a 207 step climb up to the Arch Rock viewing area. Worth the effort, but if you're a serious lard-butt & out of shape, very elderly, or gasp for breath after stairs in your home, don't even bother. Otherwise you may... More

It is always beautiful to see the arch from the road, but this last trip to the island we used Great Turtle Kayak Tours and visited the arch by water. It was a wonderful experience and so beautiful! Highly recommend taking a waterproof go-pro.

I have seen Arch rock a number of times, but I am always impressed with it and the surrounding area. You can walk, bike, or take a carriage to it and all are pleasant journey's through the woods.

We viewed the Arch twice on bike and once from the upper path. It's a beautiful bit of nature and an awesome view from the upper path facing the lake.

My husband and I rented bikes and rode to Arch Rock. The climb is big but worth it !! The views are fantastic. The stairs are perfectly level, clean and cared for!

We were cycling around the island when we saw the sign for Arch Rock & other people parking their bikes. There is a sign telling you there are 207 steps, & I felt every one of them! The climb was well worth it for the fabulous view from the top.

Visited this natural feature on the carriage tour. It is one of the best arches I have seen outside of Utah. Interesting perspective from the overlook but probably better from the cycle path below. Certainly a better picture from the path.
