Arch Rock is easier seen by taking a carriage tour. The overlook deck provides a nice view of the rock with Lake Huron as the back drop. A larger deck would help manage the crowds better.

It's a nice little walk to the arch then 207 steps up to it but there are landings to take breaks. Nice shady walk. We saw horse and carriages up there so you can also take a ride up there if you don't want to...More

If you take the Mackinac Island Carriage Tour, this is a stop towards the end. If the driver doesn't offer the information, ask if they know the story of Arch Rock. There is a Native American legend that is fascinating. If you are not taking...More

Is such a lovely View and a great place for a photo op. The best way to go view this is on a tour because then you get the background in the history which makes it much more fulfilling.

We got to stop at Arch Rock during a tour carriage ride. Beautiful landscape and formation! Very scenic!

We biked to the base of the Arch Rock stairs and then climbed. It's quite a hike, but you'll get a great sense of accomplishment when you make it to the top. The views are amazing and the Arch rock is worth the look.

Walked to the arch. Would have probably liked it better if I would have biked there and been able to do the stairs to the top. Unfortunately I am still not able to do that many stairs yet. Disappointing since I know how beautiful it...More

Lovely placed to stop, either on bike, a walk, or on the carriage tour. The rock has quite a story and the setting is picturesque. If on the island, don't leave until you see the rock!

A short walk away from the crowds on the main drag is a lovely site with an interesting geologic formation and fine view over the lake. Definitely worth a visit.

I do not think they should have any trouble it is on an open trail down from the fort. Many young adults and kids are out at the Arch the past two times we were there. It is definitely worth the trip and youth friendly.

I don't think the things on the island actually open until May, and the other reviewer is correct that it seems like Memorial Day is the time it really kicks off. Keep in mind that they still get snow in April since they... More
