This is a very fun Haunted House. It's all about laughing and screaming. If you don't know how to laugh and scream and have fun, you will not like this attraction...... Don't waste your time or money. It is definitely very "old school". The idea for the Haunted House was based on Indian Legends from the past. Artist friend Dale Kuipers hand crafted and artistically created the finer displays. Everything was made from scratch........all the art work.....all the mechanics.....everything.. I realize that there are several displays that should be totally pitched, but I have a hard time convincing the owner to do that. He is very very "old school" I know it needs to be updated.

Back in the 1890's this location housed a Rollar Rink, which is hard to imagine. Then it was a family theatre........then a movie theatre.........then in the early 1970's Frank Nephew and Robert Benser purchased the building. In 1974 they leased the building to Welden Blum and Joe Feuquay. Welden Blum is still today the owner of The Haunted Theatre. Dale Kuipers was the artistic talent........Welden was the Engineer..........Joe was the Businessman. Others involved with their creative talents were Rick Beeman and Sheldon Bennet.

This location, many many moons ago must have been part of Indian History, perhaps even a

burial ground.

Pricey but the kids enjoyed it.

It's $7 to take a walk down memory lane and see what "haunted attractions" must have looked like in the 70s. Most of the walk is looking at odd Halloween type scenes behind glass, some of which turn and move, others that are just odd. There seems to be a way a person can walk around the walls with you,... I went in there with my son who always dares himself to go into these scary attractions. We screamed at like 2 points, the rest we were laughing. Most of the attraction involves looking at some cheap halloween type scenes behind glass. One part went dark and the floor was doing something funny. We screamed. And then the end at... More

We 1st thought this was a museum with wax monsters etc. But once we bought tickets and went in we found out it was an actual haunted house which would be find but it was so dark we could not find our way around and had to turn back. But we where not given refunds and it was $7 dollars... More

This is a Theatre with history and the locals may tell you it's haunted! It's just a quick haunted house, but go on the Haunts of Mackinac Tour to hear the history behind the building.

A quick little haunted house, pitch black with a lot of little animatronic and wax figures. Takes about 7 minutes to walk through, the scariest part might be the anticipation of waiting for something scary to happen! It never comes and you feel disappointed at the end, but it's something to do if it's raining and you're tired if eating... More

I have been going to Mackinac Island since I was a kid and have been going to the Haunted Theatre for just as long and nothing has really changed in 40 years. It's not really scary unless you are easily spooked or very young, but for me I go for the nostalgia and the memories. It's just a part of... More

Cheesy but fun. We laughed a little and screamed a little. Suspenseful and keeps you on the edge because you are unsure of what is coming next. Quick walk through but probably one of the favorite things from out trip. Wouldn't recommend for little ones but good fun for older kids and adults alike.

I am an old skool haunted house and horror film fan since childhood. The Haunted Theatre provided a couple of serious heart-pounding thrills as well as some fun and kitschy photo ops. For just $7.00, it was well worth it to stumble through the pitch black walkways, feeling my way, tense in anticipation of what was around the next corner.... More

My friend and I have a good sense of humor and enjoyed this. Something different and it is fun to share the experience.
