I took my own horse along with a friend to ride on Mackinac Island. The equestrian center is very well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The trails are well marked and most are moderate. We got to ride into Lake Huron and see beautiful views of the lake from the Island. A map is provided and the equestrian center provides hay and bedding for your horses along with information on how to get your horse to the Island. A staff member meets you as you leave the ferry to escort you to the barn. They provide full care for your horse. There is a discount offered at a couple of places for you to stay on the Island. We were fortunate to stay with a friend.
