If you enjoy history, particularly military history this is the place for you. We all enjoyed walking around, taking in the views, good displays and interesting demonstrations. The "soldiers" walking around were very helpful and informative and if you have time watch a canon demonstration.

We spent about 3 hours touring the various buildings (don't miss the jail cell!), watching a film, and watching a court martial re-enactment. One of the best views on the island!

We took the starline cruise discounted package which comprised the fort mackinac ticket as well. You can spend atleast 3 hours in the fort. The show put together was fascinating. They included the public and it was even more fun.

The fort has historical significance dating back to the Revolutionary War. Built by the British. The fort offers a spectacular view of the Mackinac harbor and has a beautiful tea Patio for light snacks. Cannons are fired off periodically throughout the day. The fort is...More
