The S.S. Badger is the largest car ferry to ever sail Lake Michigan and has provided a safe, fun, and reliable shortcut across the inland sea for more than fifty years. The ferry takes passengers, autos, RVs, tour buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and commercial trucks across Lake Michigan between Ludington, Michigan and Manitowoc, Wisconsin from mid-May through mid-October.

Husband and I took ferry for an alternative way to manitowoc from holland. Very relaxing. Recommend for parents with kids.... they are free. Can take restroom stops without stopping. Lots of kids entertainment. Didn't save time, but enjoyable experience.

We spent most of the time on deck as it was a lovely day. Had a salad from the deli. Was good. Great way to spend four hours.

We arrived at 7:45 am and were the first ones in line. They don't let passengers board until 8. The entire boarding procedure went quickly without glitches
