It's so much fun and you have to do it while in ludington. Walk on a pier and follow the path to the lighthouse if it is not too windy. I am a " big chicken" but it was so worth it. The lighthouse was not open but you could stay there and have a perfect sunset picture. Don't wear your good shoes and keep your phone in a left pocket. The waves could splash you a bit or more 😁. Definitely a fun walk to the light is a must.

Very short walk from the beach to the lighthouse. It was $8 to go inside and climb up this smaller lighthouse which we declined on this trip. Walk carefully and watch out for the waves! We got splashed a few times walking out/back in due to rougher water. Gorgeous view, and was a great way to stop and stretch out legs. Restrooms available at the nearby beach.

If you have the ability and the waves are not breaking over the break wall, the I recommend taking a walk to the lighthouse. The views of the shore are beautiful and if you’re lucky enough you can see the Badger come in or leave. There were many fisherman when I was there fishing for king or coho salmon.

Easy 1/2 mile walk out on breakwater. Public parking along beach with concession stand and restroom at beginning of breakwater before you start your walk. Great view - especially if you time your climb with sunset or the SS Badger ferry's arrival or departure. Surprisingly nice gift shop.

My friend and I were down at the beach for a Thursday Night Bonfire and Concert. We saw the path to the lighthouse and the lake was calm. We went, the walk is something like 2770 feet one way. Very easy! A fantastic experience! The views were amazing! Definitely something that I would do again!

I've wanted to step inside this thing since I first set eyes on it in 1973! Really enjoyed seeing the interior. Docents were very well informed and welcoming. Definitely worth the walk.

I looked on line and it said it was open 10-5. Got there at 11 but no workers were there. Somebody else thought it was open. Found out from another lighthouse crew it is opening next weekend. You have to walk 1227 feet about mile to get to the lighthouse. If the water is rough and coming up on walkway they will close it down. I thought it was cool because it looked like a ship if you took the picture from where you walked up.

We were driving through Ludington headed north and decided to take 40 minutes or so watching the sun set in the sky. Glad we did. Some of the best things in life are free.

The water was calm so it was a perfect day for this walk. Be sure to check the SS badger schedule because this is a great vantage point to watch the arrival or departure.

Nice 1/2 mile walk to the lighthouse. They allow dogs on the walk but nowhere on the beach or park next door.
