This is beautiful park to visit. On one side of the park there is Hamlin Lake for swimming, tubing and kayaking. The other side is Lake Michigan with beautiful beach and brand new building that has restrooms, small museum, small concession store to buy food and some clothing items.

We picked a spot on M-116 that offered a trail down to the beach and proceeded to have a gorgeous day. The sand was super soft and the environs clean. It wasn't crowded, at all, with our nearest neighbors within eyesight but still leaving us to feel like the beach was ours alone. We were fortunate as the water temperature... More

Beautiful state park with lots to do. We did not camp but enjoyed the hiking trails, visiting Hamlin Lake and the dam. We also enjoyed an afternoon at beautiful Lake Michigan beach and visited the restored beach house and new exhibits upstairs. We will bring our bikes next time in order to see more and visit the lighthouse, as you... More

With a great lake, Hamlin lake, 2 beaches, miles of trails, a dam, a river, 3 campgrounds, a primitive campground, store, restored beach house, GREAT staff and so much more it should be on everyone's must do list.

Came here as a child and again to bring friends to see this place, it can't really be explained and pictures don't do it justice. We started at the parking lot, climbed to the top of the first dune where you can see Lake Michigan, ORV area and the smaller beach nearby. We decided to walk to Lake Michigan across... More

Beautiful senery with hiking, boating and a beach. We saw wildlife while hiking. Employees at the front gate were so helpful since it was our first time visiting. So many trails to choose from, but was wishing I was on the beach more. LOL. Worth the $9.00 (out of state price) to get in.

Bring your camera along to this destination. This body of water and its shores are an awesome sight. It is almost unbelievable that this is an inland lake. The beach sand is quite reminiscent of beaches on the east coast of Africa. It's soft and quite comfortable to relax on. This body of water is so big that the shore... More
