Long walk (2 miles one way) to Big Sable Lighthouse was well worth it. Lots of monarchs migrating south down the shore. Beautiful dunes area, lots of small back dune ponds, stream is very scenic, Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake access as well. Camp sites look nice. I would definitely like to camp here sometime.

Nice state park with well maintained facilities. A number of interesting day hikes and many campsites. Likely to be quite crowded in mid summer, but was lightly visited when my friend and I were there in late September on a Tuesday.

We visited the park for the walking trails and fishing. The trails are nice but some rules need to be enforced. On the wooden trails groups of people would come riding through on their bicycles. They have rails on both sides of wooden trails so there is no where to go when the bicycles come through. Common sense would tell... More

This state park is beautiful and lives up to the commercials touting...Pure Michigan! A beautiful and expansive new beach house offers tons of convenience for beach goers, along with convenient parking. Head to the Hamlin Lake dam and walk down the river for great views. We headed over to the beach area of Hamlin Lake and rented a paddle board... More

We were here for a B&B getaway that included a trip to the Big Sable Lighthouse. This park is absolutely beautiful. Plus, it is a great place to watch the sunset after a storm.

Most people think of this park as only the beach, but that is missing so much of it! There is a great camping/RV park (my Uncle said it was the nicest he'd ever been to, so friendly) and if the big lake is too cold or rough, there is the smaller one. There are lots of cool, beautiful trails, kayaks,... More

A beautiful state park with great hiking trails, large campsites, miles of beach and very clean shower/bathroom houses. They also have year round activities.

Ludington park is a very nice space to camp and enjoy trails, the beach, have a nice night looking at the stars. We stayed after Labor Day, which help us to get a space last minute. During the summer must be pack! You can reverse a space six months Pryor to your stay. The walking trails are nice, you can... More
