I love this old covered bridge & historic village. My family is from this area so I love the history, but any history buff would enjoy it. The village still has the old school, carriage house and many more. (certain times of the year you can enter many of these) The Bridge is still beautiful and a great spot to take photos. There's a few picnic tables & grills in this spot, but you can just go down the road and the Fallasburg Park also has many things to do picnic, grilling, at least 3 different play areas for kids, pravilion, disc golf and much more. This is an easy river to kayak or just float down.

This was a well preserved bridge next to a park where you could fish or picnic. I bit off the beaten path which makes it that much better!

They history of this bridge is awesome. They have a historical building devoted to the bridge. Going over the bridge....which I do several times a week makes me think about the history of people being able to cross the river and saving lots of time......

We took a drive late one Sunday afternoon and found ourselves near Lowell, Michigan. We got “off the beaten path” and drove to the 100’ long Fallasburg Covered Bridge (erected in 1871) that spans the Flat River. Despite its age, its condition allows it to be open to vehicular traffic and we always enjoy driving through the bridge. The nearby State Historical sign gives the history of the bridge (listed with the Michigan State Register on February 12, 1959). The Flat River flows quietly through this scenic park creating a perfect spot for a picnic or a little fishing. There are exhibit signs telling the history of the area – including the “ghost town” village of Fallasburg. So, being fans of the old one-room schools, we had to visit it too.

The Fallasburg Covered Bridge marks the entrance to this historic pioneer village. Within its 42 acres is a one-room schoolhouse, village cemetery, farm houses, and barns. The "Fallasburg Historical District" was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on March 31, 1999. I enjoy history and it is nice to see a place like this that is preserving what life was like in "the olden days"..

You can make a visit to see the covered bridge and village as long or short as you want.
