Planning a private event is ridiculous hard. And we didn't even have all the information until the last minute. Like paying full price for people who dont show up after their 'at least 50 people' limit, and not even allowed to take the leftover food. 😑😑😑 event ended up canceled for their lack of flexibility for their customers.

Communication with this company is very poor. On the website it listed two different times for boarding, and two different times for sailing. When I called to get clarification, the lady didn't know which one was correct. We arrived a little after 8pm and there were only a few people on the boat. This gave us a chance to walk around and explore. The ship is in a state of disrepair. There were leaks from the ceiling on the main deck. The upper deck carpeting had been removed in some places and was overall just a mess. We were supposed to sail at either 9:30 or 10:00, not sure which. Then when we asked after 10:00, they told us 10:30. Then about 10:45, the DJ announced that they needed a car moved in the parking lot. After announcing it a few times, they must have gotten it moved because we sailed about 11:00. The DJ and salsa lessons were very nice and we had a good time, but would probably not return.

My husband and I knew the drummer On this particular cruise and that is why we chose to go . It was a big band cruise and I loved the music, but when we got to the boat it was 7:00 p.m. I knew there was going to be a class reunion on the boat but I thought earlier in the day and we would have to cruise for the public later, but they fail to tell you that your sharing the cruise with not just one but two separate class reunions that night. We felt at first very out of place we weren't sure even where we were suppose to sit so we went upstairs and found another class reunion. I asked a worker up there where we were suppose to be and did they make a mistake by letting us on the boat with two private parties going on/ She said " no, and showed us the two tables downstairs close the the band where we were suppose to sit. Of course sharing that room with the downstairs class reunion guests. I think the girl selling the tickets should explain you are going to be gcruising with two class reunions and that there are only two tables up front on the main deck for the general public. We had just ate wings at the dispatch across the street , which by the way weren't all bad for the price and the fried mushrooms you get a heaping basket for like $3.99 anyway back to the cruise. When we were out enjoying the deck sorta, there are a lot of itsy bitsy and not so itsy bitsy spiders along the outside canopy so don't lean over the wood rail and look up..... if you don't like spiders stay inside and enjoy the view.

We planned our 35th High School reunion on this boat and had the whole boat. It was awesome. We had a blast, the drinks were mixed light which was probably a good thing. You could go out and sit at a table looking out over the river or be inside out of the weather. It was a beautiful night and a great time...great planning on our Presidents choice.

The food was good with no complaints. They had something on there with cheeses that I have never tasted before and it was a HUGE hit. Very good varity of food also and lots of it. For the cost of $35.00 a person it was way worth it. It was from 6:00-11:00 and left the shore at 7:15 I believe. It was a very enjoyable night and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to hold an event for a group. Very unique and different venue.

Now for the reason that I gave it a 4 star was due to the DJ. For a high school reunion it seems she would have sat down and did 15 minutes worth of research to find out what songs where hip during our high school years. Only 15 minutes of homework would have been the icing on the cake. It was OK but left feeling kinda disappointed in the music selection. As I said we sat outside and just had a blast then went inside and danced up a storm. Just a great evening for all and great to see old friends.

What a nice way to spend a sunny, warm afternoon - on the river with a nice turkey dinner, live "banjo band", very courteous captain and staff. Watch folks wave from their back yards along the river - and wave back. Good for children, teens and adults of all ages.

We took the dinner cruise on Sunday afternoon. The Dixie Land Jazz Band was fun and we enjoyed interacting with them. My 16 year old nephew enjoyed getting to steer the boat and the captain was telling him lots about controlling it. It was a very nice way to spend the afternoon. We also had a delicious buffet style meal.

I have done other riverboat cruises around the country, so I kind of knew what to expect going in. This boat is much smaller than the others I had rode on however. All the same, it is a couple of decks with a stage to perform in the middle for the "murder mystery" of the evening.

After we boarded, we were assigned a table. You had appetizers available between vegetables on one end, and cheese and crackers on the other. Water, lemonade and tea were available for no charge, anything else was available for cash at the bar. The boat set sail, and then the "show" began.

Half way through, you were served dinner. First as the garden salad. For the main course you had prime rib and turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetarian lasagna, sweet potatoes coated with brown sugar, corn, steamed green beans, stuffing, gravy, followed by strawberry shortcake for dessert.

The show was..... well..... something different.

The old people seemed to really enjoy and get into it. Especially with the Q&A part trying to solve the 'mystery' of who done it. Compared to other riverboat shows we have seen thus far, I would say this is my least favorite. However, it was something unique as a birthday experience for the gf versus the same ole same ole.

My group of friends and I decided to try the two hour lunch cruise on the Michigan Princess boat that leaves from Grand River Park in Lansing. The price was right (we're all seniors) so we went for it. The boat capton did a great job giving us the history of their fleet of boats (one in Detroit, one in Lansing and one in Grand Ledge) and the lunch was good as well for home-style cooking. The boat ride is slow and you don't go all that far but it was pleasant and the guitar duo provided nice entertainment. Two negatives are the method for reserving places (the website isn't very clear and they do not mail you anything--it's all done by phone call) and the horrendous detour that makes finding the boat very exasperating. BE SURE to get directions when you order your tickets on how to get to the boat since your GPS and mapping app won't guide you around all the road closures. They very kindly held the boat for one of our party but she was pretty frazzled by the time she made it (as we were in our efforts to get there!). I think for the money spent, it's a very nice time with friends.

I rated this a 3 because we did have fun. We went with a group. Like previous posts, there was a high school reunion and other groups.

Pros: The band that played the night was very good. It played 60s, 70s, 80s Rock 'n Roll songs. It was great weather: late summer, the leaves beginning to turn color but warm enough not to wear heavy sweater, etc. Drinks were relatively cheap.

Cons: A lot. The food wasn't great. It was filling but it wasn't great. Salad consisted of greens and tomatoes, 2 pasta salad, I think that was a beet salad. Meat choice was turkey ONLY, vegetarian lasagna, sweet potatoes coated with brown sugar, mashed potatoes, corn, steamed green beans, stuffing, questionable gravy, strawberry shortcake for desert. Service was inconsistent: I had to ask for salt and pepper shakers for our table of 15, no butter, a couple of people in our party were missing forks, people had to wait for coffee cups from the coffee table. Sugar packets had to be fished out of the Ziploc bag (LOL!!!). Previous posters mentioned about cobwebs: these are more evident in the dark with minimal lighting, and if you look closely the boat does appear shoddy. We went on it because of this social group and I think I'd never go on it again unless someone pays for it for me. It's basically a floating bar. You could do better for $40/person esp. for a high school reunion or ANY special event.
