this artificial lake is located in the middle of the mountains. we visited there during winter. The surrounding mountains were full of snow and they reflected on the lake surface. The colour of the lake is like blue and green, but most of all so clear. There is a small church inside the lake of St. Fanourios. The landscape is... More

High up on the plateau of the mountain lies lake doxa. Its a picturesque lake, best enjoyed in spring summer autumn. Nice for picnic. Dont forget to visit the monastery nearby.

Do not forget to visit the small church. It is always open. You can even walk or run around the lake. It is 5km. Winter is more interesting.

We were told lake Doxa is amazing this time of the year and it was. as we got close the weather was alternating between showery clouds and sunshine creeping thru the fog, as we took the last bend on a well paved country road the lake Doxa welcomed us with... The lake is placed at a very nice scenery in the mountains. It's an artificial lake, at a high altitude, which means it's pretty clean and unspoiled. There's a monastery on top of the hill with a nice view, for which it's worth visiting. There's also a small church on a small island in the lake. If you like nature... More

Even if you mainly walk on the road, give it a go! The scenery is great and distance is not too long for even kids. If in doubt, rent a bike.

The fifty shades green, blue and yellow will steal your soul in the middle of the mountains... The whole place will remind you of your childhood and you may catch yourself looking for fairies and elves...The great escape from reality! You HAVE to see that place! Even greater for your children

This is a must stop for people visiting the near villages. The view is breathtaking and you will take some really nice photos there. There is also a small church and a local small open market with traditional products to buy.
