Great exhibits in intimate venue

While the venue is not larger, the exhibits are quite nice. KIA is near downtown shops and restaurants, which can make for a fun afternoon or evening.

If you are walking around downtown, take a moment to pay a few bucks and check out the visiting and local artists showcased here. They have art classes. I haven't been but I hear they are pretty cool.

Small permanent collection and very nicely curated exhibits, often of local and regional artists. Nice gift shop as well. Attractive facility perfect for displaying art.

Attended a wedding reception here, and the galleries were all open while attendees were waiting for the bridal party to arrive. Interesting exhibits throughout. The Chihuly Glass sculpture at the entrance is really beautiful! The staff were very kind and well informed. Great info from the security person, and the event manager was very helpful at the end as we... More

Art that is definitely unusual and place to spend the day or afternoon. Many exhibits are interesting, some you may walk by, but still a good experience

While the art is not all valuable it all has value. Some for its profundity, some for its provocatity, some for proclivity. You be the judge.

Of special interest -the huge Helen Frakenthaler in the main lobby and the Victor Scheckrengost Jazz Bowl in the permanent collection. The special exhibits were varied and well-presented. I had a wonderful - and educational day - here. I did not expect such a high level of cultural experience in a small city, but I was very pleasantly surprised!

The KIA is a great place to spend a quiet afternoon. It is a treasure house, currently featuring African folk literature, Korean sculptures, abstract paintings, and other paintings completely new to me, Egg Tempera, where the artist mixes his paints with egg yolk and water. All fascinating.

You'd think this smaller town wouldn't have such a vibrant arts scene, but it is led by the KIA. So much goes on here, including all kinds of world-class speakers, events, and exhibits. Of particular interest to our family is the teen classes and monthly teen night. KIA knows how to get kids and teens interested in art - and... More
