An older tree lined course that used to be the Elks Club. It is a well laid out course that isn't hugely difficult but it can challenge you at times if you don't manage your game.
Nicely manicured and very true greens.
The course could use some upgrades to the club house, restrooms, bar and restaurant. The cart paths are in desparate need of repaving and some old tree removal.

This is another club I did not even know existed, but went on the recommendation of my buddy. Where it is located, right next to PNC Bank, you can easily miss the drive. I guess this used to be part of the old Elks Lodge or something. Plenty of parking when we went, but they also had an overflow lot it seems.

That being said, we went on a Tuesday evening and it cost us $20.00 each with cart. We golfed the front nine, which for the most part was 400-500 yard straight aways with a few 100-150 yard holes in the mix. A lot of geese on two of the holes to shoot around. If you can consistently drive 200+ yards, the course of not overly challenging, at least the front 9. Minimal water hazards or dog legs to navigate.

They did have a place to eat, and their menu of options are posted on the website, but I did not get anything before or after as it was late in the day.

So a group of 4 of us made reservations to play 9 holes. We were just finishing the 6th hole when a young, rude arrogant college boy came out to say we were taking way too long to play. Noone came up to us ,where we would have just let them play through. Now mind you we are not pro's but we had only been playing about an hour and a half. Which we were pretty proud of ourselves for. We have enjoyed many golf courses around the area and have never been treated like this. If you want to enjoy 9 or 18 holes of golf, I don't recommend ever going to Praires golf course. what a disappointment.

When our friend, the late Steve Tyler was managing the pro shop and he is the one that got the double sprinkling system at the Prairies. Since then the course is beautiful. The atmosphere and people there are very kind.
