We enjoyed a peek inside for Victoria Christmas. And were a little disappointed. Our docent had to prompted to describe many items. It appears that Grosvenor House Museum Association is having difficulty raising money to maintain and properly show to public this beautiful home. Best opportunity to visit is in the Summer (June-Sept) when home is scheduled to be open from 2-5 PM on both Sat & Sun. As you would expect you must climb stairs (fairly gradual) to second level.

It is very informative and a unique look at mid-western historical living patterns. The place is well kept and the woodwork is a valuable art form!

I haven't actually been in the Grovernor home in a few years, but it doesn't change, obviously. It's a Victorian home kept in it's original state with furniture, drapes, appliances, etc to match the era.. It's very interesting to go through and a beautiful example of what these huge old Victorian homes looked like back in the day...

I called two days priors to coming to Jonesville to check hours No one ever called back. The place is closed and only open a few weeks of the year. It should not even be listed as an attraction...which it is not....since you cannot get in.

My sister and I toured this home last week. No one had answered when I called the phone number listed. We wanted to tour at a time different than the regular times. I finally called the town manager (got phone number from the town website) and whoever answered gave me the number for the person in charge. She set up a special tour time for us. She was a very interesting guide who knows the stories of the home (and the area) well. The house is fantastic (if you like that sort of thing). If you are in the Jonesville area I encourage you to take the time to tour this home. It was $5.

Why are Pa and Ma Gamble not even mentioned? They had a wonderful history in this home as well. So sad, they were wonderful people who should not be forgotten.

As a tour guide we are given a script of information about the home and history of Mr. Grosvenor. We have nothing written down about the Gamble family. We would love to have the information. Could you write down the history of the Gamble's and mail it to the museum? Grosvenor House Museum, PO Box 63, Jonesville, Mi. 49250. Thank you.
