WHAT Covid-19 virus?
Aug 2020
Social distancing, HA! It's a joke here! Some people refuse to stay 6 feet apart in areas, even on the beach. It's as if they don't care! THEN there were 100's of kids packed on WhoaZone. If I was a parent of one of them, I'd be FURIOUS!! Confronting the manager about the crowded conditions on the WhoaZone he said, "I have no idea how to answer that." REALLY?
Hey brains of mush....this is why the virus continues to spread! DUAH!!!!

Loved the Holly-McGinnis Lake Campground
Jul 2019
Note: This review is specifically for the Molly-McGinnis Lake Campground.
We had planned to camp in the non-electric loop of the park (East Campground), but the sites were too open for our liking. The park staff was very helpful in explaining the options available, and we were able to drive around and pick some sites that we liked. We opted for a site (#98) in the Trillium Loop, which was very wooded and had lots of tall trees. There were comfort stations with showers, as well as vault toilets. Recycling for cans and plastics was available. Cost for camping was $25 (for an electrical site). Once it was dark, we saw lots of fireflies, which made sitting by the campfire even more magical.

Fun Little Place
Aug 2019
This is usually my go-to for summer swimming. If you're a Michigan resident, it pays well to get the park pass with your license plate. This way you are able to enter any national parks "free of charge" for each visit. Although, a few visits, you get your monies worth. This park contains a beach and a very clean lake. On the lake, it has a WhoaZone for children to jump on and run through obstacles. It's quite expensive, probably something to try once just to get the experience. It's best to go during summer months like June, July and early August as that's when the water is mostly warm. This park also features hiking trails, which I've had the chance to walking once. I found some bamboo growing around the trail, which I found very interesting as you don't normally see bamboo growing at all. This could be your next favorite spot!

Nightmare for Travel Trailers and or Recreational vehicles.

The Sanitation (dump stations) were closed last year and the word was they were going to fix it during the fall when closed. Since then both Oakland Parks Pontiac Lake Recreation
and 7 Lakes are no longer allowing non users of their sites use Of their dump stations. Granted Oakland is county, but really?? We live in Holly with no place to dump our tanks after a stay. This park should be closed until it can support it's campers. No discount is offered for the huge inconvenience. HEY GOVERNOR, FIX THE POO STATIONS.

We live close by and use this park to hike. The trails are beautiful and pretty well marked. You have great views of forests, lakes and open space.

Check out the NEW WaterPark Play Area
Aug 2018 • Family
Not exactly sure what the name of it is - but there is a new high tech play area that floats on one of the lakes in this park. Older kids and teens absolutely LOVE it. Our grandkids from Kalamazoo did this place twice over the summer and would have come more often if we had known about it sooner. Great fun!
