Had a $50 gift card given to us from daughter/ son in law for Christmas so made the hour drive down to Holland with wife, brother in law and buddy.
Absolutely the best carts we ever had, THE most comfortable padded leather seats and gps. Plenty long, VERY FAST greens, and plenty of sand and water. No real tree issues but rather poor signage and directions to next tees.
All in all had a nice round, $45 senior rate at 3 pm tee. Nice breeze from Lake Michigan to keep heat down.
Nice clubhouse, didn't eat anything. Like Ray Hearn's Hemlock inn Ludington better though

Gorgeous course. Challenging but not overly difficult. Greens were very rolly. Played as a "perk" for staying at The Beach House at Lake Street. Great perk! Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We had made a tee time for two of us & the day turned out to be colder than expected.
We went, we pared up with another golfer and had a good time.
Lots of rain and greens appear to be left longer for fall.
Still a course to take in if you get the chance.

Ok to be fair, I will say the place is strikingly beautiful and the course was fun, challenging etc.
The November day was windy and chilly, but we were happy to be able to golf at this time of year. Never played this course, but heard great things. All was well until about the fourth or fifth hole and I had to go to the bathroom. I was relieved to see a “Jon’s to Go” out by the maintenance building area. It was the courses normal spot though based on the cart paths to it. I opened the door and about gagged. Dried S..t on the seat and not just a small smear! Looked like it hadn’t been serviced for several weeks.(date on service paper said 10/30 I think) Desperate I lifted the seat and went without touching anything. No hand sanitizer which wasn’t a shocker. I had that in my golf bag at least.
I had to go again by hole number 8 and we would drive right past the Jon to go to 9. I said to my husband no way! I can wait until we make the turn. By the time we got to the club house, I saw 3 out door bathrooms on the ground level back of the building. The first one was locked. I thought oh dear probably locked for the season. The second women’s one was unlocked and I stepped inside...OMG. I was thankful the seat was at least clean because I had to GO! (Coffee does that) I stepped outside and my dear husband smiled and said “was that better?”. I just shook my head. The toilet was jammed packed with toilet paper, some poop and a cigarette butt to top it off. Probably 2/3 of the way full plugged. The floor was full of dirt and toilet paper, hand towels, and empty rolls from the TP. The soap of course was empty. I am not exaggerating at all for either of these. I wish I took pictures to verify. I didn’t have my phone with me.
On a positive note, again had to go on the back nine. That one was pretty good minus hand sanitizer. It said was serviced 11/2 I think? Strange the dates didn’t match on the 2 portables?
I found it sad that such an elite establishment, had such deplorable bathrooms. You can’t even blame it on both being portables. Our golf course we normally play at have portables that are far superior than these. (Different company. Green ones)
