The picture in the travel brochure did not do the height of the stairs justice. There are a LOT of steps to climb, but there are places to sit and rest along the way and the beach itself was really nice. It was small and quiet with families having fun. Nice free Lake Michigan beach.

This is not the beach you go to for a quick visit. As the other reviews have stated, it is a workout to get to and fro. And since you'll want to stay for awhile, you'll need to be carrying supplies. We took an umbrella, chairs, a cooler and a beach bag...and we handled it pretty well. I was actually... More

Yes, there are a lot of stairs to climb, but the views of the lake are beautiful from the top of the dunes. Beach area is small but clean and uncrowded. Limited but free parking, no life guard, trash cans, or restroom facilities on the beach, only a port-o-potty in the parking lot. Nice beach off the beaten path, great... More

Climb up the steps and run down the dune to spend the day on this small but lovely beach on the south side of Holland. What goes down must go up, so, after you've enjoyed the lake and the beach, be ready to climb up lots of steps to get back to the parking lot. It's tiring but worth it.... More

Living close to the lake, we used to frequent this beach all the time. Yes, it is a workout to get to but used to be well worth it. One of our favorites! The beach was quite large and the sand beautiful. I was at the beach today, and it is not what is used to be. Most of the... More

If you like to climb stairs, this is the park for you! If not, go to the state park where you also have the benefit of the pier and views of the big red lighthouse!

An offbeat beach that is worth the drive. If you can find it and make it up the stairs you are in for a great treat. The views are amazing. If taking kids I would keep your items to a minimum as you will be carrying them over the dune and back. Only downer is not a lot of parking... More

My favorite Holland beach. Gets busy during the summer but it's a great place to visit and walk on off-peak for a private beach feel.

There's no sign for the park or the beach so if you're using GPS, you'll be led to a street that says Dead end - and that's the right one. The parking is at the end of the street at the base of the stairs up and over the dunes. The beach is only about 200 feet wide, buffered by... More

Found our way to this little beach while exploring Holland. As you arrive, you pull into a tiny parking lot...promising if you are hoping for a beach with few visitors. Then starts the workout. The beach is on the other side of large dunes, which means more stairs than I could count to the top, then down to the shore.... More
