We took our cameras and went for a hike here. The nature center was closed when we visited.

It's a nice little woods tucked between development and homes, and an easy hike. A lot of the wooded area is pretty thick, so while we could hear birds and small wildlife, they were generally hard to spot.

Unfortunately there are some parts that needed clearing due to downed tree limbs, and a few paths we couldn't take because they were too muddy for the shoes we wore. A little TLC maintenance would help.

Crazy fall leaves. Gorgeous trails! Geology trail! Was closed indoors, but I felt like I could've walked for hours! Very cool spot!

We love stopping here and taking a walk through the woods. We see a variety of birds, frogs and turtles! Inside the Nature Center is a nice big window to bird watch. They also have a large bunny you can pet and several other animals for you to enjoy. The gift shop has a nice selection of items. I bought a big fox shape puzzle for the grandkids. Very unique. There was no cost to visit here. The trails were in need of some trimming, but the place is very clean and inviting. This would be a good place for a young family to check out. Your child won't get tired out and neither will you.

My family visits Holland often and found this Nature Center not far from downtown when looking for something to do outside. The entire property looked fairly new to the neighborhood. The center offers bird watching, live local critters and stuffed ones also. Trails outside are not difficult at all and great for kids, some even handicapped accessible. This is a great stop that won’t take long, but will be great as the fall leaves change colors.

This isn't a large Nature Center, but our family always enjoys stopping by when we are on vacation in the area. Rescued owls, snakes, frogs, toads, turtles and more to see, as well as some nice short hikes. Never very crowded as I don't think many travelers are aware of this little gem.

There was no signs anywhere to tell you where to go, and when we found it, it was not at all what I expected.

If you enjoy a taste of nature, you'll enjoy De Graaf. it is only a couple miles West of downtown, and offers a very nice restful location for a taste of nature.

The nature center building has some displays & educational activities for kids, a gift shop, and a few live animals (owls, snakes, turtles). There are several trails winding through a mostly wooded area, offering a chance to see some wildlife (mostly birds). We didn't really see much wildlife, but we kind of walked though in a hurry. One of trails is a boardwalk, so it is wheelchair accessible, although there are a fews small hills that may be difficult to manage.

The De Graaf Nature center is a really nice place, I am not sure how many acres it is, but it has a creek running through it, a pond and a variety of trails. It's a slice of heaven in the city!
