Lake Lansing is a great place for the whole family! Enclosed play area, so you don’t lose your little one! Bike track for the bigger kids along with rental paddle boats & kayaks! You can bring your own fishing stuff and even grill out in park grills. The beach area is the perfect size, not too big, so you are able to watch your children. Yes, the park has life guards (but remember YOU must watch your child) and you cannot use unsafe floating toys or unapproved life jackets (floating toys give children & parents a false sense of safety, watch your child). There is a concession stand with great items and good prices. Friday nights have free music, blow up slide & bounce house!! How great is that! We LOVE LAKE LANSING!

Probably a nice attraction in the summer, but rather plain looking in the spring. The water is crystal clear and the surroundings are clean with parking (5$).

Great place for kids and even adults to relax. In addition to the swim area, mostly for kids or just a cool dunk there is paddle boating and a fishing dock. Great play area and car track for kids. Huge lawn area and snack bar. Great summer fun for all.

Recently at the beach and noticed the life guards telling the children that they couldn't have toys in the water, beach balls, or life jackets...... Is this a new rule? I probably won't bring my kids if it is. I want my younger kids that don't swim well to have life jackets on. It didn't seem like fun for the kids that were there.

This is a beautiful lake and enjoyable if your kids like to look at the lake and wade in shallow water. The *beach* is very small and only allowed area in the water to go is a small wading area, not deep enough to swim. Additionally, there are no water toys (inflatable floating devices, balls, frisbees) allowed on the beach. My kids are bummed out as I am as well. It is a disappointing experience, waste of a 1 hr one way drive and we will never come back. However, if you enjoy sitting on a shore looking at the water, this is the place for you!!

Lake Lansing is a great place to soak up the sun and have fun in the water. The beach is large and sandy with a paddle boat rental at one end and on site bathrooms. Between it and the road is a well shaded very old park with many grill and picnic stations, a pavilion and an amphitheater which has live music every friday night throughout the summer. There is also a newer playground with up to date equipment for the children. There is a bar, another bar and grill and a nice restaurant all right across the street and a Quality Dairy and an ice cream parlor on the corners. Everything you'll need for a day of outdoor fun.

The show changes each Friday thru the summer...to my pleasant surprise the act last Friday was an oldies group that did a wonderful trip of songs thru the 40's to 60's. Beautiful park with a variety of mature trees, wonderful bandshell. Truly enjoyable evening, again by donation only. Wish I could have been here for the bluegrass show and stay for the country show next week!

Visited on a weekday in July. The beach is really that small. Not sure if it's the water level or what. We arrived early in the day to keep the heat to a minimum . When the lifeguard showed up around 11:30, she ordered everyone out of the water (probably about 100 people by then) until noon. I guess if it is summer, and folks are clearly arriving before the posted time, either lock the place up, or get a lifeguard there sooner. Regardless, the water was fine and the sand was fine. Just out of the way and small.

This place would have been so much better had it not been for so many ridiculous rules. It is the first lake I have ever seen where floats etc...were not allowed. They have a specific area roped off...which could be nice, had it been done over an area with a sandy bottom. We had been told all swimmers must swim within the roped off areas...which was fine, but the area was so congested with swimmers, that it was difficult to actually swim without bumping into someone every five feet. We were there for nearly five hours, and as I noticed every 1.5 hours swimmers were told to leave the water, sit in sun and wait out for whatever it was the lifeguards were doing...which was nothing that I seen. They wasn't in the water, they just sat on the beach with the others. It didn't make sense. We go to the lake to enjoy ourselves, to swim, lay in the sun, play in the water with water toys such as a ball, frisbee, or any of the other numerous water items. I sat on the beach, my niece and i inflating our float chairs. A few lifeguard walked past us, looking right at us, even greeting us. While other lifeguards sat in their lifeguard chairs. But not one of them had the decency to inform us of any rules. Even at the gate, paying to get in, no one informed us of any rules. We didn't even receive a paper with a list of rules. Basically we went in blind. Once the chairs were inflated, my niece and I started for the water, only to be stopped by the very lifeguards who had walked past us and greeted us while we were inflating them. They tell us its not allowed.
Then, we spot many swimmers entering the water to swim outside of the roped off areas, not once did the lifeguards stop them or tell them to get out and go inside the roped off areas. In my opinion, the ONLY enjoyable thing there had been the paddle boats, and even that wasn't the greatest as we were only able to go around in the small area where large boats were being launched and we had to continuously avoid them.
I will NEVER return to this place.

There are paved walkways from parking to the lake and along the beach as well as to the restrooms/concessions.
