The greens are in great shape and true. The fairways are pretty big. It is a great golf course for any level golfer.

A few friends and I have begun a fall golf trip to hit some bucket list courses in Michigan. The upper peninsula was the trip this year. This course belongs on that list. I read a couple reviews from 2016 and 2017. I can just echo those. They are doing something right because I was just as impressed. It had rained that night and we had the first tee time in the morning. Overcast, but no rain. Slight wind. The starter let us know the range balls were included and that he would announce our tee time 5 minutes ahead of time so we could be on the first tee right at the tee time. The course was in great shape. Hitting it absolutely straight was not always necessary, which made it fun. Greens ran true. But, what is it with golfers these days? We sometimes fixed numerous ball marks that were not our own. The ranger was visible at times, but only spoke to us for friendly banter. The refreshment person came around enough. I look forward to going back sometime.…

This is a nice course with immaculate, tricky greens. I do enjoy more of elevation change than I experienced here. It is a lovely experience though. Very personable and helpful Ranger Mike.

Beautiful golf course very well maintained. Staff was welcoming. Starter is a gem. Fair greens and reasonably generous fairways. Even the island green did not come across as gimmicky. Our group all said they would make the trip to play it again, and again.

Sweetgrass is always a favorite place to make a trip to at least 2-3 times a summer. The reasons are obvious if you ever play here. This is a course that for the most part is booked pretty solid all summer, yet the tee boxes look like it gets very little use. Divots are filled and repaired with new turf growing quickly. Fairway divots are filled and there is no sign of weeds even though it is cut out of farm fields and a forest. The greens are large with at least two or three landing areas to use, so the pin is usually not setup in a place where the traffic impacts the grass for very long. The greens roll pretty darn smoothly and they can be quick. Sand traps are consistent and well maintained. The practice area is included with range balls and is one of the nicest areas north of Green Bay. The staff has always been friendly, while trying to speed some people along that truly need the prodding. If you keep pace you will likely never seen anything but a smile as the ranger drives by. The layout has multiple tees so you can bite off way more than you should!…
