A beautiful movie theater. There are three theaters. Seating is approx 200 in main theater and two smaller theaters approx 40+ and 20+. Has new films for showing very quickly and usually moves the new film to a smaller theater to bring another new film. Snackbar serves wine, the best buttered popcorn in the whole world. Uses real butter and popcorn is popped fresh daily, choices of candy and some heathy homemade bars from My Sister's Bake Shop for those who are not into candy. Offers matinees daily. On Wednesdays @11 show and old film, usually a film many seniors would like ..admmision is $2 and Saturday mornings has a kid's movie @ 11am.
Theater streaming Opera or smoother special throughout the year. Very civic minded.

My husband & I went to the movie in the large theater. The seats were comfortable, the staff was very friendly, the bathrooms clean and very modern, the consessions sold wine & beer. I loved the ceiling with the little lights that formed the 'Milky Way' and the shooting stars that came across the ceiling unexpectedly. Maybe next time, we'll go watch all 3 movies, in all 3 theaters.

We went to watch “call of the wild”. There are two theaters and we were in the small theater. It was actually quite cozy and I don’t think there are any bad seats. The sound was excellent. The lobby and restrooms were very clean. An excellent venue. It may be crowded on a busy night and parking could be a issue since it is right on the main street.

Looking for things to do with our kids on a cold, rainy spring break trip we stumbled upon this gem of a place! I could not be more impressed. Super classy, clean and just gorgeous inside, friendly staff, and great concession choices. I definitely recommend this place!

We have been in HS for 5 years and finally went to the Lyric. OMG! A theatre with only 39 seats is nirvana. The seats are roomy and comfy and situated so there is no big head you have to keep dodging to see the screen. We are hooked.

Such a great city theater. It is a classic and so nice and clean and redone. They have first run movies and it is all run by volunteers.
Check out a movie if you are in town!

This theater is the best new attraction in harbor springs for years! Thanks to all the wonderful donors who made it possible. I enjoyed a movie there today, but must request that the powers that be take a look at why so many coming attractions are put up before the movie one has come to see. There were about 4 or so coming attraction pieces, two Wednesday coming attraction movies, one piece about snacks, another about cell phones and an introductory piece about the movie. It was entirely too much.. can the theater back off a bit on all of this. We want to sit down in the lovely theater and watch the show we have come to see...

Thank you so much for your kind words about the Lyric and generous donors! We appreciate your feedback very much, but I want to clarify our pre-show content for others reading this. It is true we purposely have introductory content related to the feature film, coming attractions, matinee highlights, and announcements regarding snacks/phones. Typically the introductory content starts between 15 and 30 minutes prior to the feature film's advertised start time. This serves 2 purposes. One is to provide related content or interviews for interested patrons, which we get a lot of positive feedback/requests for. The second reason related to the size of our theaters. We recommend arriving 30 minutes early because the medium and small theaters sell out often and this pre-show content is an incentive to arrive early and provides educational/interesting content compared to commercials typically found at other theaters. The coming attractions/matinee highlights are timed to begin a few minutes before the advertised start time of the feature film and end just after, so the vast majority of our feature films begin within 5-6 minutes of the advertised start times. This allows everyone a little time to get situated at the last minute. For those not interested in the pre-show content or coming attractions, you can time your arrival on the later side, but you may risk not getting your favorite seat. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you soon. Note: You may purchase tickets online as well.

I went to the Lyric to see the first film of the Traverse City Film Festival, and I plan to go back to see other movies because it was such a great experience! The murals of the town in the largest (195 seats) are charming, and the starry sky ceiling is magical. The lobby and bathrooms were spotless. The concession stand seemed to have a nice selection of candy, and they serve wine and beer in addition to sodas and water. Next time I plan to arrive hungry so I can enjoy the organic popcorn with real butter!

We now find every reason to attend movies ONLY at the Lyric! The staff (and even other guests) are always so friendly and welcoming. As other reviewers have stated, the theatre is clean, comfortable, and has a great assortment of movies.

Thank You to the Lyric Theatre for creating a wonderful spot in Harbor Springs!

This past summer my wife and I enjoyed several first run movies at the Lyric. The seats are comfortable and the small intimate three theaters within the Lyric allowed showing movies simultaneously. The Lyric Theater is a wonderful addition for Harbor Springs.
