When the Australian F1 Grand Prix is held in November 2021, Albert Park Lake will be the center of global attention. The Lake is 3 km (2 miles) south of the Melbourne CBD. It's the backdrop for the Grand Prix. In the background, viewers will see the Melbourne city skyline. The Albert Park Lake is 50 ha (120 acres), large for an inner city lake.

Albert Park Lake is in Melbourne's inner city. It's a bit unusual to have a recreational lake some 3 km (2 miles) from the centre of a major city with a population of 5 million.; Albert Park Lake isa popular place for walking. Visitors will often see boats sailing and people canoeing and kayaking. Fishing is also popular, as is bird-watching. Inteernational viewers will see the Albert Park Lake as the backdrop to the F1 Australian Grand Prix. The street track does a circuit of the lake.

We flew over Albert Park Lake yesterday on our return flight from Tasmania. Albert Park Lake is 3 km (2 miles) from the Melbourne CBD. Unfortunately, its has just been announced that the F1 Grand Prix will not be held at Albert Park this year. Recreations such canoeing, kayaking and sailing are still permitted, Angling is popular. The lake is stocked with fish such as perch and trout. Carp can also be found, though once caught they cannot be returned to the lake.

We are staying in Melbourne for a couple of years and we have the pleasure to live near this stunning park. It is all beautiful and very well maintained. The walk round the lake is amazing although usually quite windy. Seeing the Melbourne sky scrappers in the back round is fantastic.

We stayed in this area of Melbourne for over two weeks and we were delighted to have this beautiful park nearby.
It is a large park with a stunning lake.
When we were there in February, preparations were being made for the Formula One Grand Prix. Unfortunately the races were cancelled on the morning of day 2, so we didn’t get to see them.
The park, however, is well worth a visit.

It must be about 6km around the lake, but we bailed out half way and caught a tram to our next adventure. There is plenty of bird life and a choice between concrete and sandy tracks. Shade and seating sre in short supply, but we did find drinking eater and children's playgrounds along the way.

If you can manage the time walk this lake for all-round views of this beautiful area. The views of Melbourne city skyline beyond the lake are stunning during the day and at sunset. Another beautiful parkland not far from Melbourne city centre.

No maintenance going on since it first was built. Very average park with very bad smelling water and boats that are habituated by pot smelling filthy people

the lake is an oasis not to far from the central business district except around grand prix time. the lake is full of bird life and if you want to see a black swan the place to go it full of them. it a 5 k walk around the lake with plenty of seating for us oldies to rest during the walk.
