The Great Escape Room is a real-life room escape game based on the popular computer and mobile phone escape games. Escape games are the newest craze sweeping the nation - a fun, team-building, brain-busting experience! After entering a room with your team, the door is locked behind you. 60 minutes are on the clock! You must work together in order to find clues and solve puzzles that will lead you to escape the room. We had a blast. We did Dr. Watson’s infirmary. We were so close, 30 more seconds and we probably could have made the heart transplant and saved the patient! Our room assistant, Alysa was wonderful. Very fun family activity!

This was my first time in an escape room. My son had done them a couple of times and encouraged us to try it. We had a great time looking for clues and working together to figure it out. The staff was very helpful and even gave a a few extra minutes since we were close to solving it. We had a greate time and would definitely come here again!

Had our family in from various destinations and thought this would be a great outing. Was not disappointed! We were able to escape, but with only 1:30 left so there was some pressure at the end. Some highly educated individuals in this party and they were challenged for the clues. FUN and CHALLENGING but not so difficult that it couldn't be solved by just using some common sense. Would definitely go back as they indicated that the rooms will change regularly.

The owners take pride in making our escape rooms challenging - yet possible to solve. Thank you for recognizing this as I am sure that when you try out our GameRoom (our next escape room that will be opening shortly) you will feel the same way.
To clarify, our rooms don't specifically change - they are pretty much permanent installations, however with the large space that we have here, we anticipate that at our Grand Rapids location we could have 3-4 additional puzzles available for you to try by next summer as are owners are consistently designing new games and trying them out at our other locations to perfect them before we get them here in Grand Rapids. Our next escape room, The GameRoom, is nearly completion here in Grand Rapids and we hope to have this ready for you to try in September.

It's located in a really weird place, but it's worth the find. If you're in Grand Rapids and have an hour, this is a must do. It is a very fun and unique experience. We went with a group of 5 girls on a girls trip and we were the only people in the room. We came very close to escaping but did not end up making it.

I'm happy to hear that your "Girls Trip" group had a fun time trying to escape. Our game designers strive to make the puzzles challenging but able to be accomplished. Since our rooms can accommodate 12 people trying to escape, I'm very impressed that you came so close to solving everything within the 60 minutes with only 5 in your group. You girls are a smart bunch!

Is it best to go with your own group? Or let them put you with others? Just wondering about two people....

I think it depends on you. We were paired with a young couple & we had fun getting to know them a bit. If you are not all that social , I'd say bring your own group. Either way, you'll have a great time!

It's a mind challenge. You get a great thinking group and you go into several rooms with limited clues and try to figure the way out of the room. Several aspects will need people from different mindsets to solve the quest. Maybe a person with great knowledge of history would be good in one room and somebody with analytical skills would be very good to help out. A diverse group would be a successful group. It's a challenge of your mind,it's fun.

No, all rooms are the same. FYI, we had a Phd., 3 Masters Degrees, a Chemical Engineer and 2 old dummies (my wife and I!) and were challenged. All members of the team contributed in solving the puzzles, clues, details, brainstorming and "tricks". We cannot wait to try another when we are together again at Christmastime.

Yes this is a great activity for participants around the age of 12. It is a family friendly environment and most children in that age group have a great time searching for the clues and solving the puzzles. It's a great family activity if you're looking to try something different.
