Beautiful golf course!
Aug 2018 • Couples
Thousand Oaks is one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in West Michigan. Friendly staff that really care about the course and continue to work to keep it in good condition. Frequent wildlife on this heavily wooded course. They really need to update the photos on TripAdvisor...it doesn’t come close to showing how pretty it is.

Reds restaurant (at the course) should really be reviewed separately, but it is also very good.

Restaurant disappointment
Mar 2018 • Couples
We had a group of about 15 on a Monday night for a special occasion. Three of us got a fish dish and the sides were barely warm. Someone else had a steak ordered medium andnit was well done and dry. Sent back. When we were finally asked about our dinners and we told about them being almost cold they said we could send back but by this time most people were done with their dinners. No offer of free dessert, knock some off bill, or anything. Very disappointed for the price of meal.

The thousand oaks golf course is a very nice course, with an above average clubhouse. You will not be disappointed with your experience there

Great Location for the Wedding Reception
Aug 2016 • Couples
We went to a wedding reception here. Very nice! Room was large enough for about 300 guests. Views were of the rolling hills of the golf course. Bridge and groom were seated above the main floor so everyone could see them. Dance floor was a good size. Service was excellent.

Reds at Thousand Oaks
Jul 2016 • Couples
There is no separate entry for Reds so I will leave it here like other reviewers. My wife and I used to visit Reds on the River in Rockford all the time, until we got bored of their menu so when it reopened here we decided to give the new place a shot. The service was decent, the waitress was attentive and we were in an out of there with appetizer and dinner in an hour. The wine list was complete and offered a good variety of by the glass and bottle options for a reasonable price. The food was definitely lacking here. The appetizer was supposed to be seared ahi tuna which we expected to be seared and raw on the inside, what we got was a very medium cooked piece of so so tuna. It lacked flavor and we generally were displeased with the dish. To the waitresses credit, she did ask if she could bring another but we were content just waiting for our steaks. My wife had the Waygu sirloin and I the prime rib. My wife's dish was decent, had a fair amount of flavor, but I will say it was cooked perfectly. The mashed side and green beans were just ok. My prime rib on the other hand was probably the least flavorful piece of prime rib I've ever eaten. Where is the beautiful crust??? The risotto side was just ok and asparagus was still extremely crunchy and almost raw. The one thing I will say positive is the prices were very reasonable but in the end, you get what you pay for. There are tons of better restaurants in our wonderful city and unfortunately we will not be returning to Reds.

Reds at Thousand Oaks
Apr 2016 • Friends
I don't see a tripadvisor sight for the new Red's so will post it here. We checked out the new place this past weekend. The remodel looks nice. Updated and modern looking. We live on the course so we did frequent the Acorn Grill in the past. I will say we were disappointed in the service at the beginning. We sat for 10 minutes before I had to flag someone down to talk to us. That is not a good way to start off a new restaurant. The service was better after we put in our drink and food orders, so do appreciate that. Food was ok. I had the cobb salad and the cobb salad at Cork Wine and Grill is way better. I felt I needed to write this so hopefully the service improves.

Great Food
Sep 2015 • Family
We go to The Acorn Grill several times a year. Have never left unhappy. When my daughter got married we used their banquet facility for the reception. Perfect for the occasion. There were about three hundred in attendance and they handled it perfectly.
I heard the facility is under renovation at this time. Hope the quality remains the same.

Rolling terrain, true greens, challenging layout. Thousand Oaks is a joy every time I play. Don't miss the food at the Acorn Grill, it's top notch.

Good Food, Good Price
Aug 2014 • Friends
Not a whole lot to say: My wife had Chilean Bass, it was excellent. I had Scallops, they were excellent. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Drinks and food were served at appropriate intervals, or as we requested.

Prices are excellent compared to downtown Grand Rapids. You get good value for your money!

From where we sat, we had a nice view of the golf course. There is outside seating. However on the night we went it was raining and we didn't get a chance to check it out.

Only negative is, it is very noisy! It is open seating and the night we went the restaurant was full. It was difficult to carry on a conversation with those around you. Other than this one negative, enjoy!

"Up North" Golfing in Grand Rapids

Course condition and layout is outstanding! Rolling and treelined fairways. Greens are cut short and challenging. You might see deer and wild turkeys.
