This is a very nice, three story art museum that exhibits lesser known pieces by some big name artists such as Picasso, Renoir, Cassat, Manet, Whistler, Rosenquist, Motherwell, de Kooning, Christo, Steiglitz, Curtis, Henri, Davis, Rauschenberg, and more. If you know anything about the work of these individuals, it's very interesting to see these pieces in order to widen the... More

The food was good and was a little expensive, but not too terrible. Nice bar, with everything looking nice.

Rotating galleries. Always something different to see. Great curator puts together interesting shows. Open until 9:00 pm on Thursdays and it's free.

After all the raves about GRAM, I hoped I would not be disappointed. It turned out to be even lovelier than I had expected. Instead of the usual chronological or "school of" grouping, the works are displayed in a seemingly idiosyncratic manner that works. The photographic display showcased gorgeous works by famous and not so famous artists. No digital photos... More

I'm partial to the GRAM as this is where we hosted our wedding/reception. Outside of an awesome event, the GRAM consistently offers a top of the line curation to be experienced year round. Whether it's during ArtPrize or their summer concert series, they never cease to impress.

On Thursday evenings (early July- August) the GRAM has free concerts from 6-9 pm. Concerts are held outside the museum, food trucks are parked in front, and there is a cash bar. Admission to the museum is free during this time.

Full disclosure--we are members of GRAM, so I am biased. That said, GRAM is a wonderful museum. Its central location makes it convenient to other downtown Grand Rapids museums, restaurants, and entertainment. The building itself is a piece of art, and the fact that it's LEED certified is a bonus. The permanent collection is varied and just the right size to... More
