Yea last played here in 2001 and drive by here umpteen times and always admire the 13th hole along the Thornapple River. Yea it’s noisy with 96 and M6 but being I’m flying in a few days( vacation excited) and playing solo on a beautiful fall Monday 10/5/20 watching the planes come in from the East and being right on top of you is really cool.
The course is in great shape and at $32 late fall senior rate a great value. Great gps carts with a nice cushion seat provided comfort. There are a few blind shots but all in all a great layout by the river and highways.
Greens roll and hold and from the tips a brute.
Will be back
Gal said Watermark owns it now.

Maybe only Quail Ridge I like better. This is a really good course but more important is it's a fun course to play. It's not a hard course but if you're spraying you can make it hard. The conditions are really good, we last played in December and the greens were still rolling perfect and fast. They run a popular business here so it fills up fast. With cart paths that run the entire course even rainy days they'll let carts out (cart path only) which is a plus. For the money I think it's a good deal for the quality.

Read the reviews on the course prior to playing and had mixed emotions about playing the course for the first time. We started right on time for our 10 am tee time and let a two some play through on the front nine. Starter was an elderly lady and quite pleasant. As I reflect on our day, the tees were the only area that needed a little attention and they weren’t bad. Greens we awesome, fast and true. I’m a 10 handicap and shot 79. To me, this was one of the best values and a quality course in Michigan. Played in 4 hours on a Friday with a 10 am tee time.

I was there with a group of 8. I have played there pretty often and, while I don’t love the layout, I usually enjoy because the conditioning is usually good and the greens are very good.

I was quite concerned though, because nobody was wearing a face covering even inside the clubhouse and bar, not even staff. I went in to pay and to use the restroom at the turn and there was little to no social distancing, with several people milling around very close to each other while waiting to order drinks. And no masks on staff or patrons. I felt like people were looking at me funny because I was wearing one.

There are lots of good courses around GR where I have played and people are being very careful. I won’t go back to Thornapple Pointe until the pandemic is under control, and maybe never.

Overall, I love this course. The track is well kept, challenging but fair and demands good shots from every club in your bag. My only gripe is the range, which is really too bad because it's such a great course. But the range balls are a hodgepodge of scuffed and dirt covered rock-balls, and finding a section of grass to both stand on and strike off of is a complete joke every time. Less controllable is the gorge that stands between the hitting area and range, but it does make yardages to targets very tough to determine without a laser and the targets seem to be placed randomly. Unfortunately, the range here is a frustrating place to warm up before a round, and a nearly impossible facility for an effective practice session.

Nice course, moderately priced. No set of 6000 tees, so the 6300+ whites were a bit long. greens were fast and true.

Challenging, beautiful 18-hole links course close to the airport, with a comfortable well-equipped clubhouse. Enchanting fireflies at dusk. Premium craft beers on tap at the end of the round. Very friendly, helpful staff, both inside and out.

This place is so well designed and maintained. It's a great place for charity and social events.. There's a outside deck for the 19th hole. It is unique in its design between a highway and train track and the airport is very near

Tends to be over priced for the course. Pretty chewed up from the play this year. Still the course is in pretty good shape.
